The remote originally recieved with my 19 inch sylvania tv, purchase in the late 1990's was lost. I then purchased a universal remote which worked for a while and then konked out. I purchased a remote, that claimed to work with all sylvania tvs made after 1988. That does not work with the tv. Then I purchased 3 more universal remotes and none of them work. Does anyone know why this would happen. I have to manually change the channels at this point. My sylvania TV does not work with remote recently. I can watch TV by press button, but I dont knaoe how to watch DVDs. (cannot switch to Game channel by hand)
Well, i got a one for all remote from a wal mart or some where else, and i have a sylvania tv. it works for my tv. might want to look into that. www.oneforall.com

It sounds more like a problem with the TV, than the remotes. It's possible that the IR reciever or microprocessor for it have pooped out. It's something that would have to be serviced by a shop, but due to the age and size it would likely be cheaper to replace the whole TV.
