I would be interested to know the model number of the camera. "Coax" jacks are usually only used for tuners. It is more possible that it is a BNC connection. If it truly is coax than they may have used the coax jack because an RCA style plug would come unplugged too easily while driving.
Just get an F (male or female depending on the connection) to RCA (female) adapter and an RCA cable and plug it into any composite (yellow) video input.
If it is BNC than get a BNC to RCA adapter.

Take the part into Radio Shack and they will have the right adapter.

Normally when this happens, the TV goes into " Protection Mode " because of a failing circuit board. Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. The most common thing to go out on flat panel TVs is the circuit board that supply power to the screen. Commonly called a Backlight Inverter Board.
But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptom.

You have a few choices:
1. If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.

2. If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you red light flashing codes, circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15.
3. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

Hi malumbender,
Your tv dosn't have a digital tuner, in order to recieve OTA (over the air) digital signals you will need a Digital Converter Box.
Here is a link to a government website for coupons for the box. The coupons are for $40 off the purchase price of the box. There is a waiting list but they will come available as other coupons expire.

here is another site for antenna and channel line up.

I hope this helps and please rate this solution, please keep in mind that a "Thanks For Trying" rating is negative.

Do to the extreme difficulty in finding parts for LCD tv's and monitors, I need the number and maker information on the front of the inverter. It is a inverter problem and I am currently working on a magnavox with no suppliers anywhere. Hear is what they look like.
http://www.pchub.com/uph/model/0--7839-1/QPWBGL945IDG-parts.html
The inverter board is Sampo QPWBGL945IDG LCD and if you click on the photo to enlarge you can see the Sampo number.
Being a 15" like I am working on a universal one may work for you.

First lets see if we can find your inverter. Please give me the info off the inverter and we can go from there. Be careful taking it apart, get organized and keep everyone away. Set your screws in different holders so you know where they went, take photos- this helps great when taking stuff apart if you cant remember where everything went. You will need to purchase some metal tape found in the auto dep. at walmart or Lowe's. When you take the screen apart you will see what I mean. You have to cut the tape , the inverter will be on the back under a metal shield which the inverter will have 3 plugs [ maybe more ] but I am thinking it has 2 tubes, one on the top and one on the bottom. Any way, look at this site and it will give you an Idea on how to get at the inverter.

Even though this is for lcd monitors the principal is the same so lets get it fixed - but I will need the number off the inverter, this should get you started to take it out, it is a good Idea to replace the cfl's also, they have about a 33,000 hour [ about 3 year ] life. That is a little more risky but we will get into that later. Please send me the info and we will help all we can on getting you up and running!
Take Care - The best of luck

Try a reset to this TV and check. There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

It's the fuse in the electric engine. You can bypass this fuse by cutting it off and then you just connect the two ends together, wrap with electrical tape. It'll work, that's what I did to mine. Works great again

A lot of people are confused about turning the TV 'off'. If there is a light showing when the TV is 'off' it is merely on 'stand-by' and not truly off. Off means being physically turned off by either the switch on the set or the mains. using the remote to turn 'off' the TV will not turn off it will only put the set into stand-by mode. In many cases if the TV is in stand-by mode, and then switched off, when the set is turned back on, it will still be in stand-by mode, and will need to be turned on with the remote. (even if you unplug, in some cases) All TV's are different, so will operate differently of course.

Did you finalize the DVD before you removed it from the VCR/DVD recorder? Until a disc is finalized, it won't work on another device. If you left some space, try to finalize it now. Does the disc play when in that Sylvania unit? It is possible that the unit is faulty and didn't focus the laser properly for writing to the DVD. (If you actually tried to burn to a CD and not a DVD-R, then no data was written to the disc. There are slight differences to the laser settings for CDs and DVDs.)

I hope this helps.
