Mcdevito75 here, Most Lorus watches use a press fit back cover on their watches, simply us e a knife with a sharp edge between the case and cover and with a slight twisting motion the cover should come off, Also Look for any slots in the cover that match a slot in the case, or a very slight extension or lip on the cover, this is where you"d place the knife and use a slight twisting motion to remove the cover. If there are screws on the back cover you"ll need to remove those screws to get the cover off. Your Local small watch repair shop can help out.

SOURCE: Just to know to open

Watch backs open three ways, the first way is 1) by small screws you will see them and need to remove them carefully as not to strip the screw head, if there are no small screws the watch could have 2) a screw back, it will have indentations evenly spaced all the way around the back, if it is a screw back it has to go to a jeweler or watch repair for removal with a special tool. You must eliminated 1 and 2, then 3) would be a pop off back, you look around the edge of the back for one indentation along the back of the watch, use a pocketknife to gently pop the back loose. I hope this helps! thank you!

SOURCE: i have a lorus mickey

You may need to have a local jeweler who has a watch press to put it back on, If you put to much pressure on the inside of the back, it may be warped. A knowledgeable jeweler should be able to fix that issue also.

Installed battery in lorus musical watch and nothing.

mcdevito75 here, A quartz mechanism can go bad just like a light bulb, depending on the watches age, wear etc. If your watch was stored for a period of time with a dead battery in it, that dead battery could hve leaked, ruining the mechanism. If your watch worked fine and the battery just went dead, make sure the battery contacts inside the watch are clean, use a Q-tip dipped in Alcohol and gently clean the battery contacts, press the button for the music part of your Lorus and make sure those contacts are clean and are meeting once the button is pressed, this you can see with the back cover off the watch. Makes sure the battery is installed correctly, and that the new battery number is the same as the old battery number. 364 and 371 are popular batteries for Lorus musical watches, even though your new battery is new, it can still be dead, who knows how long it was on the store shelf?? also, double check as some Lorus Musical watches have 2 batteries, 1 battery would be rather large ans sitting just under it"s hold down bracket see, as soon as you remove the back cover, if so, that battery must also be replaced. I have an old Mickey Lorus musical useing a 397 battery just 1 but my Lorus is burnt out. If all this fails, I would look for a small watch repair shop in your area and have them look at the watch for you.

My gold Mickey mouse Lorus watch was opened a part damaged by the person replacing the battery. This is not a digital watch, but has nthe mouse with hands and a second wheel at bottom.

You are probably going to have to look for an identical watch for parts. You might try this site:
http://www.esslinger.com/watchparts.aspx?gclid=COCr3t2F9KUCFcIKKgodgiARnA which is parts for watches. I'd have a look on ebay as well for a watch that is not working. Of course it does depend on the part you are looking for. I am also wondering if the inner parts for another Lorus mickey moue watch might fit, but maybe you don;t wish to change it out from the original.

If you put "lorus watches" into your search engine you should come up with the Lorus web site.

One of the options given is "instructions", click on this and you will be asked to enter details off the back of your watch.

I have a Lorus NX11A multifunction watch and have no manual. I have been on the Lorus website but it might as well be written in Japanese

mcdevito75 here, I would imagine this is a Mickey Mouse Lorus watch by the picture supplied. If it Has DAY / DATE function, here"s what to do, --- To set the DAY, pull the stem out to set, keep turning the hads till you rech the day, then push in the stem. To Change the DATE 9 number) slip your fingernail just under the stem and lift it to it"s first position (notch) this should allow you to change the DATE (number) without haveing to turn the hands so many times.
