You didn't give any model numbers so there is little to go on, but typically a motor spinning backwards has been wired incorrectly, particularly if it is a 3ph motor. There could be other causes but in 3ph motors this is the most common.
Good luck!

My condenser fan is running backward

An abrupt cycle of power can cause a motor to run backwards. If you turn the power off again and wait 10 seconds or so (enough for blade to stop spinning) it should run the right way. Put the capacitor back the other way and try again.

The freezer is cold, but the fridge stays around 40 degrees, and the unit keeps running continuously

The evaporator fan motor may be about to seize and is running to slowly to cool the fridge, cost about ($30).

Check to be sure you can get a replacement fan first, they last about 4 - 5 years. Available from a parts supplier or electric motor company.
Unplug fridge. Located usually in top of freezer behind a vented cover plate. Remove cover, remove screws holding fan in, may have to cut wires. Replace with new motor, make sure the fan spins the same direction (CW OR CCW) as your old one, if you don't know which way it should spin then be sure it pushes air into the freezer area and doesn't spin backward drawing air from the freezer area.

Any info on electrolux RA1300 gas fridge. Freezer works well but fridge compartment doesn't chill

If you had an electric fridge the problem is usually the evaporator fan motor ($30).
I suspect that you may have the same problem. Generally, freezers are cooled only, when the fridge needs cooling, the evaporator fan comes on and blows cold air from the freezer to the fridge compartment. The advice below is for an electric fridge but may also work for you, it's worth a try I suppose.

Unplug fridge, or disconnect gas etc. Fan should be located usually in top of freezer behind a vented cover plate.

Fan is on but it is not cold could it be the compressor

The evaporator fan motor may be on but not spinning fast enough. They last 4-5 years.

FAN MOTOR

The run capacitor is probably bad. The run capacitor is usually a two part component. One part serves the fan and one part serves the compressor. Sometimes when they fail the fan will even run backwards instead of just stalling. Replace it.
