I have a model AF-S125FX and holding the power button doesn't work to reset unit.
I was told by a Sharpe CSR that if holding the power button doesn't do it try holding the "mode" button instead.
1 Disconnect power plug
2 Hold down MODE button, plug in power cord, hold
MODE button until you hear a beep, the unit will
start
3 Press power button to shut off
4 Press power button to restart

This worked for me.

SOURCE: unit stops working - E1

I wrote the solution #1 and have an additional comment. This really does work!! I fixed my neighbor's AC unit by following the instructions for clearing the E1 code. The unit will not operate until the code is cleared. The page is titled: Customer assistance for air filters cleaning (E1 code) on Sharp Air Conditioners

SOURCE: help

go to sharpusa.com and click on support, they have all the model airconditioners and all the help. its in pdf format and i dont know how to paste the info. really easy problem to fix.

Basically, tells you to make sure air filter is clean.Unplug from wall, then hold Power/on/off button down and plug unit in wall. press Power/on/off button until you hear a beeping sound(approx 5 sec) then disconnect powerplug from wall. plug back in and start your ac again. it should work!

If this dont work try the same thing but by pressing the Mode button and same kind of operation as above, but the unit will start to operate after you press mode and herar the beeps. turn off by pressing On/off button. then start as normal. if you cant get it go visit the website.

SOURCE: we have an E1 code

Display Codes:

E1-Automatic filter clean reminder.

Turn the air conditioner OFF and unplug it. NOTE: The air conditioner must be unplugged for the automatic filter clean timer to reset.

Clean the filter. See the Care and Cleaning section in your use&care manual. After cleaning, replace the filter and plug the air conditioner back in.

I have a Sharp AF-S80FX A.C. unit. Whether on cool or fan the unit keeps tripping the breaker on the plug with an E1 message. The filter has been removed and cleaned, but it really wasn't dirty.

The air is cool but doesn't seem cold enough

Check to see if there is power getting to the air conditioner. If it is a 110-volt unit, plug a lamp or other device into the same outlet the air conditioner is plugged into. If there's no power, check the fuses or circuit breakers. If there's still no power, you will need to contact a qualified electrician to restore power to the outlet.

If there is power to the appliance but it is still completely dead there may be a problem in one or more of the following areas:

E1 error code displays when unit is plugged in I have a wall unit with about 10,000 BTU capacity. Two days ago, it quit working and displayed the E1 error code. I unplugged the unit, let it sit for 10...

highly annoying issue error code E1. After hours
of fan operation, the error code E1 will appear on the seven segment
LED temperature display. This error code is intended as a reminder for
the user to clean the air filter. However, because the procedure
outlined in the user manual does not clear this error code as
indicated, and the appliance has a nonvolatile memory that cannot be
reset by simply unplugging it, the user of the appliance will become
mightily frustrated, standing in potentially sweltering heat watching
the appliance repeatedly shut down in the midst of operation with the
"E1" display flashing.

Believe it or not, that is what it does: if you unplug it to remove the
"E1" code from the display, and plug it back in and re-start it, it
will simply run for anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, and
then merrily shut down again with the same flashing "E1" code.

So you will come home to a hot bedroom, living room, etc. unexpectedly,
and you will NOT be amused, as I was not.

Many people at this point, having put the manual under the canary or
some such, will simply return the unit and never buy another Sharp air
conditioner. But for the tech-savvy and search-adept, I offer the
following procedure to clear the nefarious E1 indication, and obtain

1. Power down the air conditioner using the "power" button on the front
panel.
2. Unplug the air conditioner from the wall socket.
3. Hold the front panel "power" button down and plug the air
conditioner in. Continue to hold the power button down as the machine
goes through a brief test sequence (fan & compressor each come on
briefly, etc). There is a "beep" sound at the end of the test sequence,
and the machine will be off. At this point, you can release the power
button.
4. Unplug the air conditioner.
5. Plug the air conditioner back in.
6. Congratulations! You should now be able to operate the air
conditioner normally for another 720 hours, but only if you followed
the instructions above EXACTLY.

LG dishwasher error code E1

E1 is a code that the dishwasher displays after detecting a leak. There is a sensor on the pan at the very bottom of the unit. Take the bottom front panel off, look under the unit at the hose coming off the pump and your fill line to be sure no water is dripping. Run the unit in a wash cycle while doing this if possible.
