E1 error code indicates an open thermistor or open thermistor circuit. A thermistor is a component that relays the temperature in the dryer to the control board. If the thermistor has failed, Error code E1 will be displayed.
You need to call a repair person to fix it.

Kenmore elite dryer will not work on manual cycles which consist of three options; timed dry, express dry, and touch up. Dryer will work on auto cycles only

most likely the board is bad,the board is big money, just keep using it on auto, that's what you should be using anyway the dryer automatically stops when the clothes are dry,say you set your clothes for 60 minutes and they dry in 40,you're drying the clothes 20 more minutes that you didn't need,if you set it on auto the dryer sensor knows the clothes are dry and shuts it down when they are dry, this doesn't have a timer this has a computer board or it could be the touch pad not working correctly if it doesn't take commands but either part is expensive the board is like 200 and the touch pad is close to 300 bucks,i would use it on auto, one more thing to check is sometimes the ribbon or plug that connects the touch pad to the board could be loose or have some lint or something in it,i've just unplugged them and plugged them back in and then it works, also clean out all the lint out of the dryer and vent line, this is the number one cause of most problems in dryers and you won't have to worry about a dryer fire,if it's gas you should do this once a year yours is electric so you can wait like every 18 months with gas you have a flame in there so you don't want lint in or around the flame, clean out the duct that the lint filter slides down into and i use a leaf blower to blow out the vent line just take it off the dryer stick the leaf blower int the line and blow it to the outside when you have the dryer running go back outside and make sure the air is blowing out good

The error code E1 indicates that the thermistors is open or having a very high resistance. Click on the link below for the detailed troubleshooting of the thermistor.

My Kenmore ELITE keeps shutting off before the

Unless regular maintenance is performed, chances are there is a lot of lint accumulated inside the dryer. This might affect the drying time and could be a fire hazard. Make sure to have your dryer cleaned regularly. Because this might involve taking most of the dryer apart, it is recommended to have a qualified appliance repairman perform this task.

F02 error on my kenmore elite H3

FO2 is the code for long drain. The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a bunch of towels, a good big plastic bag or a wet vac to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully.

My dryer starts runs for a few minutes then stops with an E1 on

clear the exhaust tube of lint and make sure you have good air flow out of house and also if you happen to keep anything on top of your dryer please i say this to all NEVER keep anything on top ot it. Clothes or stacked items on top insulates your cabinet and makes dryer run improperly. Nowadays with sensors and all, it fools your machine when you have stuff on top of it. Good Luck

Kenmore Elite Gas Dryer Model 72042100

The E1 displayed indicates the thermistor is open and needs to be replaced.

The connections can be loose but the most likely cause of an E1 error is a bad thermistor.

The dryer will not operate if the exhaust temperature drops below 18 degrees F. or exceeds 250 degrees F.

If you're comfortable and confident in your do-it-yourself skills and have access to a volt/ohm meter you can check and replace this part yourself.

The thermistor is available from the following: www.searspartsdirect.com

Enter your model # in the appropriate box to get a full parts break-down and diagrams.

To access the thermistor see the image below.

Remember to unplug the dryer from power first.

The thermistor will have a black and red/white wire on it.

You can check continuity across it with the meter and if the circuit is open then the thermistor needs to be replaced.

When the thermistor circuit is open (>50K ohms), the error code E1 flashes in the display.

When the thermistor circuit is shorted (

Normal thermistor resistance values:
60 degrees F. - 15.3K ohms.
70 degrees F. - 11.9K ohms.
80 degrees F. - 9.2K ohms.

The thermistor -may- check ok when cool and freak out when warm!
