i have a haier esa412m that had that same code e0, in my case it was a loose solder connection for the thermal sensor in front of the evaporator behind the intake air filter, the board with the loose connection sits behind the control pad, you will need to remove the covers, both front and top/side, disconnect the main power board and look for bad solder connects and resolder them, takes about 45 mins if you are a little handy.

I was having problems with my Haier A/C staying on, also. My timer was even changing on me. I just purchased it a few days ago, and the instructions were no help. My son decided to play video games on my Toshiba TV and change the brightness, (low and behold), this turned my A/C on and off. Then we found out the volume on the remote to the TV changed the timer on the A/C. We now have a peace of tape over the sensor on the A/C and it works fine now.

I just had the same problem no an hour ago. E1 showed on display, and none of the buttons on the AC worked, not even the power button.

SOLUTION:
In the past, I've noticed that my universal remote sometimes changes something on my AC when I'm trying to change something on the VCR. (My AC is in the living room.

Well, I saw that the buttons on the AC wouldn't work no matter what I do. So I go get my universal remote, press the DVD/VCR mode button at the top, then just start pressing random buttons until something happened. I've got it now. I can control everything on the AC with it:

The remote is a 'One For All' URC-3021B00

The buttons are as follows:
rewind=power on/off
pause= timer on/off
4=low/high
5=temperature up
9=temperature down
8=fan/cool

Here is the remote:

Hope this helps.

The same controls that are on the hand held remote are also on the unit below the LED screen. However, you may need to manually turn the ON/OF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit for 10 minutes, so that the electronics will revert back to the original factory settings.So, the control panel on the unit will activate for manual use.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Most universal remotes won't have a code for an air conditioner. You'll need one that is made to work with A/C systems. See: http://www.amazon.com/HQRP-HWR08XC7-T-HWR10XC5-T-HWR10XC6-T-Conditioner/dp/B00VQ1NEUU or http://www.electronicadventure.us/Merchant2/merchant.mv?screen=prod&store_code=EA&product_code=AC-5620-30 for remotes that will work with the HWR10XC6 and some other Haier air conditioners. I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model and manufacturer of the universal remote you have. I'll try to confirm the available codes and how to program the unit. Cindy Wells

I suggest you check the ground of the wall socket. Many three proung sockets are not grounded.

highly annoying issue error code E1. After hours
of fan operation, the error code E1 will appear on the seven segment
LED temperature display. This error code is intended as a reminder for
the user to clean the air filter. However, because the procedure
outlined in the user manual does not clear this error code as
indicated, and the appliance has a nonvolatile memory that cannot be
reset by simply unplugging it, the user of the appliance will become
mightily frustrated, standing in potentially sweltering heat watching
the appliance repeatedly shut down in the midst of operation with the
"E1" display flashing.

Believe it or not, that is what it does: if you unplug it to remove the
"E1" code from the display, and plug it back in and re-start it, it
will simply run for anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, and
then merrily shut down again with the same flashing "E1" code.

So you will come home to a hot bedroom, living room, etc. unexpectedly,
and you will NOT be amused, as I was not.

Many people at this point, having put the manual under the canary or
some such, will simply return the unit and never buy another Sharp air
conditioner. But for the tech-savvy and search-adept, I offer the
following procedure to clear the nefarious E1 indication, and obtain

1. Power down the air conditioner using the "power" button on the front
panel.
2. Unplug the air conditioner from the wall socket.
3. Hold the front panel "power" button down and plug the air
conditioner in. Continue to hold the power button down as the machine
goes through a brief test sequence (fan & compressor each come on
briefly, etc). There is a "beep" sound at the end of the test sequence,
and the machine will be off. At this point, you can release the power
button.
4. Unplug the air conditioner.
5. Plug the air conditioner back in.
6. Congratulations! You should now be able to operate the air
conditioner normally for another 720 hours, but only if you followed
the instructions above EXACTLY.

Are you sure it is not silicone sealant? As far as that, take utility knife and cut around it, then you can get the unit out and work on getting the rest of it off the house. If it is actually Epoxy, good god, You might need to replace anything on the house that is is connected to (if good epoxy) Head to your local hardware store for some Epoxy remover, but it often harms anything it touches, but it does work after soaking the heck out of it."
