If you zoom it and it did not work then your problem is in the vertical circuit

Cant get a full screen

quite often their are bars on the top and bttom of the picture, or on the side because of how wide the original picture size, if you look for a button on the remote that says 'Format', you should be able to adjust the picture size, but it may cause other channels or movies to 'cut off the heads' or stretch other images

Picture size

I found the user manual online, and the pictures in it are really helpful and make this make a lot more sense, but:
1. Press [SCREEN MODE], to switch the TV aspect ratio.
2. Press [SCREEN MODE] repeatedly until the normal screen displays.
NOTE: • Some programs may not offer all display mode options.
4:3 Programming
[Sidebar] Sidebar displays a 4:3 picture at its standard 4:3 size. Sidebars will be displayed on the right and left edges of the screen.
[Full] Full displays a 4:3 picture at a 16:9 size, with horizontal elongation necessary to fill the screen.
[Cinema] Cinema displays a 4:3 picture at a 16:9 size, with less horizontal elongation necessary to fill the screen because a little bit of the top and bottom edge of the screen will be cut off.
[Wide] Wide displays the center of the picture as original size and the outer sides of the picture will be elongated. The size of the picture will depend on the original signal.
16:9 Programming
[Full] A picture is displayed at 16:9 size as it is.
[Zoom] Zoom displays a 16:9 picture without changing its horizontal and vertical ratio, at its maximum size.
[Cinema] Cinema displays a 16:9 picture with vertical elongation.
[Expand] Expand displays a 16:9 picture with horizontal elongation

The picture is too big for the screen. how can i make the picture match my screen size?

Posting the model number would make a response more valid but you need to go through the main menu selection and check to see if you can alter screen resolution or geometry there. Most sets offer different views such as 'Panorama,' 'Full screen,' etc.

Peoples heads are cut off on reg tv not in hd

Since your tv is cutting the heads off durring regular or analog signal but not high deffinition sounds to me like you have to set the aspect ratio different or such as going to your picture format from the main screen. Play with the settings from zoom, full screen, no overscan, cinerama and see if this helps.

Screen cuts off top of heads

Check the menu settings for the picture. You may be expanding the image to fill the sides, in the process, cutting the top and bottom.

My tv picture cuts off at the top, losing scores or tops of heads

Have you tried the "Aspect" button below the menu keys of the remote? Try "Full" Aspect and see if this improves things for you.

Hope this helps.

Picture is cut off at top and bottom

I had the same problem with my westinghouse 47 inch HDTV. It turned out that someone had inadvertently hit the "format" key on my satellite (Direct TV) TV remote controller. If you have satellite TV you might want to check this out. I set it back to the previous setting and I get the entire screen. Hope this helps someone.
