The refrigerator door side does not shut tightly. The gasket seems to be ok and we leveled the unit. Still not shutting tightly like the freezer side which seems to have a magnetic pull to assist close. The frig side has no magnetic pull whatsoever. How do we fix this to tighten the seal?

Check bottom hinge cam riser located on bottom hinge the pin that goes inside the door it's plastic it's a 2 piece part 1 part goes over hinge pin and the other goes inside door hole. They get worn and break. If you replace this make sure you get both parts until you do try adj. top door hing to get the door tighter.

I have a combined Bosch fridge/freezer unit. It is the frost free type of freezer. Lately, the bottom unit (the freezer), the door sometimes seems to have no pressure behind it and will not stay shut.

use a level to make sure unit is not tipping forward. adjust 2 front feet to tip slighly backward door will then close itself from about 6 inches......poss feet have sunk into floor covering.....

I have a ge gss22kgpacc side by side, the freezer is working, lights, etc. all working, but the refrigeratoe side is not working, any insight? thanks, mike

on most units they have two controls refrigerator control is electric t-stat that runs compressor freezer control think of it as a door colder freezer door is barely open warmer freezer door all the way open all cooling coils are in the freezer and a fan moves the air to refrigerater side possible problem fan not running
door freezer control all the way closed
light switch broken light staying on door gasket not sealing tight find door switch press verify light shuts off and fan starts
look for torn or damaged door gasket can look from outside with light and see if gasket contacts case on all four sides
freezer is cold enough so compressor is ok hope this helps good luck ron

Frigidaire FRT17G4BW9 doors not staying closed

Adjust the front legs of your refrigerator slightly to raise the refrigerator. and and store items on the freezer door shelves to add weight. This is a problem of pneumatics and a testament to how tight newer refrigerators are. When you close the large refrigerator door it compresses the air in the refrigerator compartment. Both compartments are connected by air passages and thus the pressure change is transferred to the freezer causing the freezer door to pop open.

Raising the front of the refrigerator a tiny bit will help both doors close from the 90 degree point, which is desirable. Adding weight to the shelf will just help the process.

An additional aid in self-closure will be to use vegetable oil on a paper towel to wipe down the hinge side face of both door seals. All these maneuvers should aid in causing the door to stay closed and re-close if it should open slightly. Good Luck

Refrigerator side not sealing tightly when shut.

Sounds like you may need a new magnetic seal. It is worth the money to fix it, saving electric and your food items.

Frequent frosting issues particularly on the roof of the freezer compartment on the Electrolux ERN2930. Frosting also evident on the front of the top drawer. The freezer has a step design for the second...

Look for the following items:

* A leaky door gasket

* A defective heating element if the unit is equipped with a high humidity element in the door frame

* Make sure the door shuts tightly and is not obstructed

* Make sure the unit is level or just tipped backward slightly and that the door is not loose, twisted or out of square

* Lastly, there could be a defrost timer issue, but check all the other things first

Sides of freezer extremely hot

if there is air getting into the freezer because the door is not sealing properly the unit will run because it is sensing it is not cold enough inside. your unit releses the heat from the refrigerant through copper tubing that runs through the cabinet, and thats why it is hot. you need to level the unit make sure the door is sealing on the top bottom and both sides ansd then the freezer will work properly and be able to shut off after it has come down to the proper temp.
