Freezer ice up. how to defrost it?

The icing of the freezer is caused by the failure of either the defrost heater or the defrost thermostat, and sometimes, both. Before replacing either or both, it is good practice to determine which one has failed. WhileThe defrost heater can easily be tested with an ohmmeter to determine its state, such is not the case for the defrost thermostat. Testing the defrost heater alone can give a clue of which one is bad. In either case, replacing both would solve the icing problem.

I replaced my water filter and now I get a whirring noise

It seems that during the changing the first dirty filter if you have notice around the ends of the filter and conection points there was dirt remains. Probably some of this passed in the water pipe from filter to the front tap.
One easy way we are using is by blowing presure air thought so the dirt can be spit out when you open the fron tap.
One other way is the use of a vacum so you can su*k back from the pipe any posibly dirt.
One more trick is to use a presure pump so that to increase the water mains presure so that the dirt can come out from front tap.
Finnaly if you are able to desasemble the front water tap assembly and by visual check you can see where the system is blocked.

GE GSS25QSTSS no lights working on the water and

I would remove the bottom kick panel ( 1 screw on each side ) and follow the wires to the receptical ( about 5 inches from bottom of door ) . Wiggle the receptical , to see if any of the dispensor lights come on . Also try pushing the wires into the receptical farther . If still no lights , then the main control board behind the refrig ( behind 8" X 10 " panel ) is probably bad . No communication between the main board and dispensor board . Part number WR55X10942 . I have yet to come across a bad dispensor board , so , replace the main board first . If the receptical process doesn't work .

GE Side by Side Refrigerator seeping water onto door

Hey, thanks for the photos. Have seen this problem before. Seal the recess area, at the front edge and the front corners, with a little clear silicone, to prevent water from getting behind the stainless steel door panel. I've heard people say to seal the rectangular holes along the bottom side of the door panel recess cut out also, but that shouldn't be necessary, as if you still had water behind the panel, it would just then seep down behind the SS door panel and continue to cause problems. The real cure is to keep water from getting in there in the first place.
