Plugged it in, not working!

Hello!
The situation is a bit confusing as I do not have any details, but let's try solve it together.
Variable webcam models require variable system values and editions.

Please read and follow these steps:

A. First uninstall your camera: Start>Control Panel>Uninstall a Program> find your webcam in the list, click on it and click Uninstall/Change>Confirm/Allow if prompted.Restart your computer.

B. Your webcam's requirements are following:

  • MacOS X 10.4.11 and 10.6.x for iChat and Skype
  • Windows XP(SP2) and Windows Vista for Windows Live Messenger, Skype and Yahoo! Messenger
  • Any desktop or notebook computers with a USB2.0 port available

  • I wish you told me what Operation System you use, as in that case it would be much easier to provide you a good solution.
    • To see which Operating Program you use click on Start, right click Computer and click Properties and you will enter System where all the information about your Operating System s listed. The first line in the first paragraph is the name of your Operating System.

    1. If running Mac:

As you see in the requirements for installing your webcam you need MacOS X 10.4.11 or more (10.6.x for iChat and Skype), so if you are running less then you need to update.
Tips on how to update your Mac you can find here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1338

    2. If running XP:

Please, make sure your XP is up to date by checking Windows Update (Start>type Windows Update and click enter>click on Check for Updates in the left pane and wait until Windows Update download and install Available updates. You can also check on www.microsoft.com for latest XP updates.
Note that for now, XP latest update is Service Pack 3: if your Operating System is up to date it should be listed when you open System as I provided above, but still run Windows update just to make sure.

    3. If running Vista:

Please make sure your Vista is up to date and running Service Pack 2. The info you get in System as I provided above in bold.
If you do not find Service Pack 2 in your System list (Service Pack 1 or none instead), then please run Windows Update (described in 2.). If you do not get Service Pack 2 automatically, then please visit www.microsoft.com click on Downloads, click on Vista and then double click on Service Pack 2.
Download it and install, and then restart your computer.
Check for updates using Windows Update, install any new updates available and restart your computer.

Now about the USB2 requirement, you need to see your computer specifications as I do not know which computer you use (manufacturer, model).

    C. Install your camera:
Insert the camera drive CD and if the installation does not start automatically, please do the following: double click on Computer on your desktop>double click on CD/DVD>double click on Driver>Allow/Continue if prompted. If the program prompts you to plug the camera, then you do so and continue installation.
Restart your computer after the installation is done.

    D. Update camera driver:
    Click Start>right click Computer>click Manage>Device Manager.
Find your camera in the list, right click on it and click Update. Plug the camera if prompted and continue.
Restart your computer. Now the device should be working.

    Regards!

Webcam software not compatable with vista

    Hello!
    1. Make sure you are running Vista with Service Pack 2:
Start>Control panel (on the right)>System and Maintenance>System and then see Windows edition.
If it is running Service Pack 2, then it is ok, if not Service Pack 2, the go to:
www.microsoft.com click on downloads, and in drop down menu choose Service pack 2. Install it following instructions from Microsoft.

    2. Also, you probably need to update your webcam driver. To skip long procedures, simply go to this link and download updater:
    http://driver-pro.com/related/english/webcam-drivers/
Please, select your product before you download (there are all instructions on the page).
Update your camera driver. It should run normally.
    Regards!

When it completes, Windows Update will offer "Service Pack 2 (two)" or "Service Pack 3 (three)" as an update. Allow it to download and install that update. Restart, and reaccess the web-site, and there will more updates. Then, try again to print.

    Sofware not compatable with XP

I just checked the manufacturers documents for this web cam. It is only compatible with windows vista and xp, provided that the xp installation has at least service pack 2 installed( there is also a service pack 3 now). Are all of your windows updates up to date including at least service pack 2 ? If the windows updates are up to date I would try the installation once more with the CD that came with the web cam. If the same error message appeared, I would go to the manufacurers web site and download the drivers and attempt the installation that way.
