Hey, Microsoft stop supporting the Windows XP support. Still you can read the other website blog like https://mschatsupport.com/
to resolve your issues.
Hi Bhong38,
windows or Microsoft does not tell you what updates you should download first, so I'll help you with that. When you go to load windows update do not click on Express. Choose Custom. Download the security updates first.
Do not download,
Critical Update for Office XP on Windows XP Service Pack 2 (KB885884),
Security Update for Windows Messenger (KB887472),
Security Update for Windows Media Player Plug-in (KB911564),
Cumulative Security Update for Outlook Express for Windows XP (KB929123),
Save these for last unless windows express you need one before another update can be loaded. Some security updates may fail the first time around, don't worry about it. They'll probably download after windows restarts & you go back to windows update. It's not uncommon for the download proccess to take more than 1,2 or even 3 & more to get all updates. When windows wants you to restart do so. Do not be suprised that after downloading & installing some updates may also need another update. If you see .Net framwork please do not skip any & only download one at a time. Trying to do more than one will give you a headache. If you find one update that keeps failing to download, copy the name of that update & search windows for a possible fix, ex: windows XP update kb925902 failed. Copy that into the search windows of this MS link.

Good Luck! Take your time.
Have more questions, feel free to ask.

Since windows xp was made obsolete by Microsoft in an attempt to sell their new products. The updates are not suported any more and getting them from microsoft is an impossibility.
However there is a light at the end of the tunnel. If you download 360 TOTAL SECURITY free edition. After you to the initial full scan go to tool box and clik on patch up,thisscan will give you all the updates from internet explorer 5 through IE 8. It may take a couple of hours but it will do them for you> Have fun
