You may have an earlier version of Windows Media Player, before they had a Sync button - I would suggest upgrading to Windows Media Player 11 by going to:

Sorry to say, nothing is easier to use than a brand name iPod

My sansa e280 won't allow me to add music. What can i do?

I used the sync tool from Windows Media Player and added the songs i wanted directly to the music folder. I recommend configurating the sync to manual so that only songs that are selected can go into your device. Oh, yeah... i formated the device first. This is just one way i found to be effective; there are other solutions. Hope this helps.

How do I delete duplicate songs from my e280 song list?

You can have a try Leawo Tunes Cleaner. Just follow below steps. If you still have issues or have a massive music library in iTunes or other music folders that requires a more powerful and less time-consuming option, the third-party software like Leawo Tunes Cleaner can help you. It can not only automatically clean up duplicate songs in iTunes, but also automatically delete duplicate songs in other music folders. If you want to automatically remove duplicates in iTunes, the automatic duplicate remover might have the answer for you.
1. After kicking off Leawo Tunes Cleaner, click the "Clean-up Duplicate" entry. The program provides 2 duplicate scanning modes: Quick Scan mode and Deep Scan mode. Select one of them to scan duplicate songs.
2. You could delete duplicates in iTunes music library by directly clicking "Scan iTunes" button or click "Add" button to load music files for duplicates removing.
3. After loading source music files, click the "Scan" button on the upper-right corner to start scanning duplicates. The program would display all duplicates clearly and suggest what to remove. You could decide which duplicates to delete by checking them and then click the "Remove" button to remove duplicate songs.

I can't load no more than 60 songs

You have auto-sync enabled - disable it

Disable auto-sync in Windows Media Player - Microsoft's website explains it far better than I can

Open Windows Media Player WITH the mp3 player connected
Highlight Sync, click on the arrow to bring down drop-dow menu
Select Set Up Sync
Uncheck box that says "automatically sync files to device"

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
-----
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

Loading music on to it from windows media play

The song could have drm encryption or it could be in the wrong format.

Go ahead and do this, in case the DB is corrupted:
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
