While looking up local listing will take a little leg work, These links below will give you some great starting points.
Just remember, agencies will change frequencies, Hardware, and radio types from analog, to digital, to trunked.
Also web sites may not have most up to date listings, Id also suggest local amateur radio aka Ham radio clubs. some of the guys there may be able to help you out as well.
Best of luck and SCAN ON! :) Enjoy

Finding the frequencies is pretty straight forward...
here's one easy solution..The simplest way is to GOOGLE.
go to google.com

enter "radio frequencies" and your county name and state..
you'll get the links to posted municipal services' radio freq's.
Then simply enter them into your scanner memory...

If you need the "10 codel" definitions, you can get those too so that you'll fully understand what all their abbreviations mean...
Have fun..

What is ment be reflashing a police scanner

  • When police, public safety, etc re-band then some scanners may not pick up the frequencies and you need to update the firmware (when available) to keep your scanners ability to monitor certain frequencies, pairs of frequencies, splinter channels etc.

  • Hope this helps.

Where do i get free police scanner frequency at what site

http://www.police-scanner.info/ is one site that offers frequencies. the easiest way though is to go to Radio Shack and purchase the scanner frequency book for your state. another alternative is to go to your book store and get the book. If you do a google search for scanner frequencies, sometimes you can get them for free. You might also contact friends who have scanners in your area and get the frequencies from them. The FCC lists all the scanner frequencies, as the people who use them, police, fire, ambulance and also coast guard, are all licensed and this is public info. so google the fcc and check there. I have several scanners and this is how I got my freqs.
