RCA d56w20 changes aspect size and picture appears jumpy

The tv changes picture format on it's own. The picture also appears jumpy. I have searched for similar problems with rca, but haven't found anything.

Slinteriors, how do you get started in this profession? Dou you find a repair shop, become and apprentice or get training at a school? I am very interested in learning more.

Thats caused by the small signal board, which is actually a board known to fail when the aspect changes on its own like that. You can get replacement small signal boards at www.tvrepairworld.com

The easiest way is to take a basic course in basic electronics then repairing a TV is usually just testing voltage supplies based on schematics to pin point the trouble spot. You can get some free training info and help from the website I pasted the link too. Just send them a email indicating your desire to learn TV repair. They will usually help with training materials .

Picture is over sized

Hi:
IF you are on a cable box check the cables remote for a aspect button or format button. you may be in zoom mode. also check your tv's remote for the same buttons usually on rca remotes the left arrow key is the picture format button.

HOW CAN I RESET TO THE FACTORY DEFAULTS SO THAT I CAN MAIPULATE THE PICTURE MODE FROM THE REMOTE? PRESENTLY I CANNOT PERFORM ANY PICTURE MODE CHANGES AND THE TV APPEARS TO BE STUCK IN THE NORMAL SETTING,...

If you are connected to a cable box or satellite receiver and it is high definition (hdmi or component cables) you would manipulate the screen size with the hd zoom, aspect, or format button on the cable or satellite company's remote.

If the television remote control also has it you would further adjust the screen size with a view mode, aspect, or format button

How can i change the aspect ratio on RCA mm52110. the HD picture is stretched tall but very clear.

I'm going to take a stab at this out of the dark but okay!
1) is there an 'Aspect' or a 'picture size' button on your hand held remote control?
2) If you scroll through your 'On Screen Menu's' do you find a feature that will change the aspect or picture size?
Many of these TV's have this button feature on the remote control.

42' hd tv has stretched picture makes people look fat

you have a few settings to size the picture as best as it can be sized.
format, aspect and size . try setting the TV (remote) format to full, fill or just.TV size to 16x9.
If also using a cable/satelitte remote set it to 16x9 size, stretch format/aspect and 1080i output. then just press the # key on cable remotes or format key on Sat remotes to size it best on each channel.
with 16 formats available, today's TVs are doing their best to keep up.
hope this helps

I can't see the whole picture. the tops of everyone's heads are cut off. Normal, stretch, zoom format does not fix it

check to see if tv has a function call aspect ratio
that should take down the picture size not screen size

RCA D56W20 picture problems

More information is required to properly troubleshoot this problem. How is your television connected when you are watching HD? Do you have HDMI for this, do you have a satellite or digital cable box? For analogue are you using regular coax antenna (cable TV), or are you going through a cable or satellite box?
This could be related to the aspect ration setting. perhaps you ahve changed your aspect ratio from 16:9 to 4:3 or some other setting. If you are connected via HDMI, then the digital signal may be "normalizing" your picture during HD, but reverting back to the other setting.

Check you video settings very carefully. HD televisions are very difficult to tweak properly.
