DVD Playing stops after about one hour for all

have you tried cleaning the optical lens? if so, did you notice if the cd is spinning? just follow this simple steps.. (1) check if the dvd is spinning while playing... or check if the optical lens is flashing while playing.. (2) if the dvd is spinning slower than the normal speed the reading process is affected. so which mean the motor playback is the problem... (3) check if the optical lens is flashing... if not check if the ribbon wire is broken... if not the optical lens ha to be replace.. (4) if the dvd is spinning too fast than the normal speed or double the speed than the normal speed, and the optical lens is moving back and fort or up and down. and you hearing like the cd is skipping.. then the problem could be is the optical lens... just replace w/ the exact value for continued protection.. ty

I hope I can help you, however, I don't know what resources are available to you in Mumbai.
1st DVDs, as a rule, are much more sensitive to particles of dirt on the surface of the DVD than
on the surface of a CD. A simple particle of dirt will stop the DVD from playing. The solution is to clean the surface with a soft damp paper towel, or soft cloth moistened only with water. Use a rotating motion around the surface of the CD.

2nd Dust can get into the optical lens of the DVD player's Laser beam. That dust will stop the DVD player's laser from properly reading the surface of the disk. DO NOT TOUCH THE DVD PLAYER LASER LENS WITH YOU HANDS OR ANY DEVICE DIRECTLY.
There are special purpose DVDs that are used for lens cleaning . I have done a search of eBay sites in India. Here is the link to my search posted here, below.

There is a possiblity that the motor that rotates the DVD inside the DVD player has failed.

Your LG dvd player's lens might need cleaning. It is having a hard time reading those cds that is why it sometimes skips or just stops in the middle of playing them. Does this happen also to new cd's? Sometimes cleaning those cds helps the lens reading them.

If you have a disk cleaner, you can run that for 30 seconds on your player. It that does not help, then you might need to open your DVD player's casing and clean the lens manually by opening your player, get a soft cotton earbud and damp in an alcohol and gently wipe your dvd's lens. Then try to return back everything and test playing cd.

Try cleaning the lens, also the inside of the player in and around the disk tray is probably full of dirt, dust etc, carefully try cleanig all that out, you may need to disassemble a bit to get at everything

the heat from the infra red laser heats up the disk to the point it is hot to touch at which point the read lens cannot read the laser reflection thru the heat noise. cool it down, keep a small fan blowing thru it or play shorter movies.
