OMG. If it is a rear projection LCD then you have a bad light engine. Any good repair shop will repair for $200-250.
If its an older 3 tube projection then you have contaminated coolant in one or 2 of the picture tubes. Just drain out the fluid and replace with new. Should be able to do in 15 minutes. total cost $45.

I have been advised that the color/light engine of the TV fails often and will typically create a green tint on this unit. I have one on order to get a replacement installed. BTW, it is not "user serviceable" and (for me) will require moving the TV to the repair shop for the change-out.

If this is a crts model , then one of the crts had blown, if it is a lamp rear projection, then it is a fault on the video circuit.

This is what you're going to do, Turn on the Tv and go to the service manual, if the green tint is still there, you have a defective dmd board, but if it's no there, then you have an issue with your video board

iF IT IS ONE OF THOSE WITH THE THREE CRT'S THEN THE FLUID IN ONE ARE ALL THREE IS CONTAMINATED, IF IT IS ONE OF THE NEW ONES WITH THE LAMP, THEN THE LIGHT ENGINE IS BAD.

this is caused by the optical block going bad and needs replaced sony had a recall for this problem though i think it is over you could contact sony customer service to see if they could help this repair is expensive
