Must be power button or the programmer then, you will need a repair person to diagnose from here. Of the quote for repair is high consider a new machine. I have found that once a device breaks it may be the start of a habit
Check the circuit breaker in your fuse box has not tripped, if it has reset it. Check the fuse in the power plug. Try plugging something else into the power socket to see if that wirks. If the wall socket/outlet has power you should get some sign of life from the washer even if it is only lights. This should , hopefully, allow you to open it
You have not specified if some lights come on or not. whether there is any sign of life when you power it on. Anyway the reasons are as under:-
It could be a dead battery, for which you can plug it in and then power on.
It could be a bad power on switch, for which you have to replace it with a good one.
It could be bad connection between the battery and the motherboard.
If some lights do come on when you power it on but the laptop does not, then it could be bad RAM.
Or a bad BIOS. Which does not allow the HDD to take over and boot the laptop.
Or a burnt/bad motherboard
There are so many reasons for your laptop to Not boot. A single one or a combination of these reasons. You may even have to open up the back cover and then inspect.
Use a volt meter to verify power is leaving the fuse, check for power at bulb sockets, if no power then there is a open in the circuit, you'll beed to troubleshoot, start at the fuse and work youe way back towards the socket. When checking the socket, use the socket batt & gnd, then the socket batt & body gnd.
The right side tail light and plate light get their power
from from the left side. The first thing to do is change
the bulb, if this fails, use a 12v test light or meter (the
light easier in this case) and check the power wire
from left to right. If you have power from socket to socket, check the ground, if you have good power and ground and a new bulb. Replace the socket.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
Hi there
Sounds like a common problem
when you plug the power pack into the laptop its power light goes off because there is a fault. Most commonly this is connected with the plug or the socket into which it goes or the motherboard.
visually inspect the socket, if the central pin is loose thats your problem, if not then check the plug/jack bend the cable on it as these are prone to breaking. wiggle it around whilst checking the power button and status lights if none of that works then you need to strip the laptop and perform a continuity test on the first stage.
ie between socket and motherboard. please note for any sign of exposed cable and remember electricity hurts on contact be carefull. especially if you test motherboard for voltage.
ps the switch is pretty reliable and i would not poke anything in that hole just yet.
