Question about Indesit Washing Machines
I wonder if this might be caused by the machine not being balanced properly as it does rumble a lot when spinning, but I can't figure this out as it doesn't wobble when I try to see which corner is unbalanced.
My indesit washing machine was beeping 3 times throughout it's washes. I checked the filter (which self cleans anyway) and it was fine. My first solution was to turn it off at the wall when not in use. This seemed to fix it until it eventually started beeping again. The final solution which I believe has fixed it was putting the machine on a self clean cycle by pressing 2 specific buttons together (note - only use a very tiny amount of wash liquid). I have done plenty washes since and it hasn't beeped! So I believe the 3 beeps is the washing machine telling you to put it on a self clean cycle. The instructions advise such a cycle to be done after a certain amount of use. I had only done it once when I first got the washing machine and had left it too long so it started beeping. I'll remember next time it beeps. My washing machine is a 9kg Indesit BWE91484XW

Hi Hannah. Did you find out what the problem was? I have the same model, less than a year old and it has started doing the same thing today. Hollie x

SOURCE: Roper washing machine- unbalanced spin - rocking agitator
I usually stand in front of the washer and take the plams of my hands and forcefully provide a force with the heel of my hands on the side front corners and the lip comes up
Another option is to pull the washer out and remove 2 clips (usually requires quarter inch nut driver to allow the top to come up
This should allow you to get the top off to see if a spring has broken or slipped off
GOOD LUCK!

SOURCE: spin cycle is off balance washing machine is
i dont believe it is the agitator per say. Assuming this problem has just started and doesnt have transportation bolts still attatched. Two conditions cause the imballance. 1)(if unit is a top loader) Check if all 4 shock absorber springs are well lubricated and not sticking. 2)A more involved problem which often happens, Underneath the washer, is the drive motor. on the motor, is a round pulley. this pulley needs to come off and strip further until you see a long spring. If it is not broken, clean it up using a solvent and a rag. reassemble and test. (if spring is defective, it will slip instead of grip on a spin cycle.

SOURCE: during spin cycle it becomes unbalanced and it beeps and stops
It sounds like the sensing arm of the out of balance switch assembly is wrongly set. Get the guy back to do the job properly at no charge!

First check your washer plug to see if the connections are tightly
screwed. Next check your filter if you haven't for long.
Remove
the 3 screws at the bottom of the front panel under the
washer door. Your filter door will be light brown. If you find a hose
there it is to drain out excess water (water that could not be drained
by your pump) After you hv drained unscrew the cap and
remove all the junk inside. Have a large plastic bag to catch junk and
water. Refit carefully after cleaning out. If not solved, something
shd be blocking your pump, check this out

One or more of the suspension springs have failed. Here is a link to the spring.
