Novi 370 Problems

My 370 was unable to locate satellites. Every after several major resets (hold power button down and lower left corner of screen to set up in pre boot mode-and clearing all previous data). I have uploaded the 4.40 database as well (that resulted in a loss of all world-wide database except the US-another problem). Any ideas?

Thanks, Jim

My gps has been of for a while now its locked on last location how do i reset as its not picking up sattelites

try this for Garmin GPSMap 178C

Unable to acquire satellites with a GPSMAP 172/178
There could be a few causes of the device not acquiring satellites. If the device has moved a large distance since the last time it has acquired satellites or has been turned off for longer than a few weeks or months, the device may not be able to acquire the satellites correctly.
The first troubleshooting step is to perform an Auto Locate procedure. This procedure will clear the device's memory of previous satellite information, and try to download new information.
Note: This will not clear any user data like waypoints, routes, and tracks.
To perform the Auto Locate procedure, please follow these steps:
  1. Start with the device powered OFF
  2. Press and hold the Page button and Power ON the device
  3. Continue to hold both the Page and Power button until the I Agree button is highlighted in the lower right corner of the screen
  4. Press the Enter button
The device should now switch to the GPS satellite screen. Leave the device in clear view of the sky for at least 10-20 minutes to acquire satellites. If the device acquires the satellites before 20 minutes, the device can be used or powered off.
If the Auto Locate procedure does not correct the issue, the next step is to update the internal operating software of the device to the latest version. Please refer to the related FAQ for more information.

Trying to reset my garmin nuvi 350 but per-boot mode is keeps coming up. i hold down the left corner and hold the power button i don't understand why i can't reset it. HELP im going nuts

(G-Brand): Place your finger over the lower left-hand corner of the screen (upper left-hand corner for a 6xx series) and hold it there while pressing the on/off power button. Keep holding your finger there and a window should pop up asking if you want to go into maintenance mode. Select yes. There is an option called "clear user data". Select that option. It will not erase your favorites. It will however, erase any corrupted satellite data and will default you back to some factory settings and to a location of the manufacturer's headquarters in Kansas. This will also force your GPS to collect new satellite data. Your GPS should reboot and it will ask you a couple questions like, timezone, language. Please select the proper settings.
