Calibrating Touchscreen I cannot exit the calibration mode. It just keeps going over and over from one bullseye to the next.

  • Anonymous Feb 24, 2008

A hard reset solved this problem until finally after two months my screen froze and even a hard reset won't cure the problem. My PDA was less than 90 days old when the touchscreen started needing recalibration frequently. A simple reset solved the problem early on, but then it became necessary to use a hard reset. Now nothing works. It is dead: The unit has been well charged and even with the charger plugged in all I get is the Preferences\ date & Time screen. When I touch "Done" Nothing Happens. When I do a hard or soft reset it returns to the same frozen screen

Having trouble trying to figure out how to do the touch screen calibration

Touch screen is not supposed to be "calibrated" by users. All my family uses touchscreen smartphones and computers and NEVER anyone mentioned the need of calibrating a touchscreen. If you have some problem with your touchscreen, it is something beyond standard devide operation and you should take it for service, if it is on warranty, to site where it should be serviced

I need calibration instructions

This unit is self calibrating. There is no method for manually calibrating this tool. Just hold the sensor flat against the wall and depress the button. After a few seconds the unit is calibrated and you can begin sliding it smoothly across your wall to detect studs and wires.

Calibrating compass

Yes you can. What you have to do is press the mode button on the driver info center(DIC).Press and hold the set button for 3 seconds. The DIC will display the zone. This is what part of the country you live in.What state your in.I don`t know what Zone your in so I don`t know if it is in the correct zone or not. They go from i-15.This will determine how accurate your compass will be.If you press set it will change the zones. If it is the correct zone then press the mode set button til the DIC displays calibrate compass.Press set and the DIC will tell you to drive in circles.Find a large empty parking lot to do this.I just crank the steering wheel and keep going in circles. The DIC will say calibrating. When the compass shows direction and temperature it is done calibrating and you can stop driving in circles.Hope this helps.Good luck.If you need to know what Zone your in Just post back with the state you live in and I can tell you the zone.
