When i press the on button the fan comes on but the screen stays blank

When a laptop overheats the CPU will shutdown, this is known as thermal overload. The laptop will not boot up until the CPU has cooled down. If this problem in not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
This problem is usually caused by a faulty fan or the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust.
Replace the fan if it does not spin freely and or remove the dust clogging the fan and heat sink.

Acer aspire one, won't wake up from sleep mode, screen blank

I'm having the same problem, but I don't want to have to turn off my computer EVERY time it does this. (I have not been able to shut down the laptop normally because it goes into sleep every time.) I've heard that after 3 hours it builds up an eletrical charge and you have to take the battery out, but I havn't had it on for 3 hours at a time.

Yes, if the CPU/motherboard will not POST (Power On Self Test), then changing the CPU is the only thing that you have not tried.

My laptop comes on but the screen stays blank??

Unplug the power, remove the battery and then hold the power button for 30 to 60 seconds. Then reattach the power and attempt a boot. It worked for me! Just shutdown, put the battery back in you're good to go. Worked for me so definitely worth a try.

The Display button manually turns the LCD display on or off to save batteries. If you accidentally had turned the LCD off, It should only take one press of the button to turn it back on and leave it that way. As such, it's not you but the camera. The A570 IS is relatively new. Your camera is likely still under warranty. If so, contact Canon for warranty repair (see the following link):

Do the lights on the media bar of the laptop also come on when you switch the laptop on?

Also, have you tried plugging an external monitor into the DVI monitor output on the machine? If so, was that also black having toggled the monitor (Fn + F4 I think).

If so, there is a chance the graphics card on your amilo is faulty. If you could provide some more info, I should be able to assist further.

Have a similar problem, but in my case the harddrive and everything else comes on but the screen and the harddrive LED remain off. my laptop is a fujitsu siemens Esprimo mobile v6535.
