Hp photosmart m425 lens error 22

My daughter just dropped her camera, and it's displaying lens error 22 on it. What can we do to fix this problem?

    replaced batteries, lens error 12 and then a few seconds later lens error 22

I have a Lens Error M425-12 on my Photosmart M425 camera. Can this be fixed?
Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

well you may have jamed the lens
so you migh want to take it into the shop to get fixed or buy a new camera

Lens error 22
The camera can be fixed. The lens and any other parts will have to be replaced.

You should first get an estimate for service. It may be cheaper and better to replace the camera.
