Curtis 5.1 speaker system

Yes, but there's almost no useful purpose. The HTIB needs 5 component inputs for the surround audio. Your TV doesn't provide this. From the looks of the connections, it looks like the video is basically a low res composite RCA plug, so no HD video from a DVD player. You may be able to run the audio output on the TV to FR/FL connection to use the sub and 2 speakers. (Mini 1/8" stereo to 2 RCA plugs. (Best buy or similar)

So if you bought a Curtis Home Theater System Model DVD6091 and you can only hear the 2 front speakers working? Insert another DVD that's labeled 5.1 Dolby Surround and choose that 5.1 Dolby option in the menu before calling their tech support

There are NO audio or video inputs on this device, so how would TV-audio get into it for amplification? It's NOT really a Home Theater System, but a DVD player with speakers.

your laser is probably weak or dusty, cleaning the lens with a qtip, might remove some dirt/dust --if it continues to freeze and the discs themselves arent full of fingerprints etc.. than unfortunately the laser is bad and wouldnt be practical to replace

If you mean you want to hear TV programs through this unit, you can't. It has no inputs.

But you could try this. Many cable boxes have internal volume controls or a variable output. Find that first or else FULL volume may be sent to the speakers after the following steps.

Disconnect the cables from the Front Left and Front Right inputs on the powered subwoofer, select 2 channel mode (just below the Input section) and plug in an a pair of RCA analog audio cables from the cable box Audio Out. It may work but I don't know if you can control the volume at the Curtis this way.

Some DVD players in SETUP MENU need to select AUDIO OUTPUT (i.e. STEREO 2 ch - SURR 5.1 - SUB ON/OFF etc.). Check this for start.

can it hook up to the cable and have the sound can out the speaker when wacth tv . so one can here it with not be so loud for the for any oneself,in the roon with then .
