Why won't my Lumix DMC-ZS3 EXIF data show up in my ADOBE PHOTO SHOP ELEMENTS 6 Organizer? I am using a Dell 4600 Dimenision PC running Windows XP with all updates. My Pentax and son's Nikon EXIF Data show up, but when I upload my photos from my ZS3 to a folder in my pictures and then go to APSE6 and Get Photos from that folder, the EXIF data is not there. Is there a setting on the camera that I am missing?

Panasonic lumix dmc-fz7

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

The program will not load , error message not enouph memory

Hold the CTRL key down while this software is starting. This process will prompt you to recover the catalog. If you don't see this pop window then try it again as timing this right will ensure you see the window.

If your catalog cannot be recovered then rename the hidden file psa.prf - This file can located under your user profile folder:

Windows 2000 / Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\[username]Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\3.0\Organizer

Vista or Windows 7 - C:\Users\[username]Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\3.0\Organizer

Not getting date on downloaded pictures

The date and time (and a lot of other information) is always stored with the picture file in what's called the EXIF data. By default this is not shown on top of the image since neither the camera nor any photo viewing program knows which portion of your photograph is unimportant and can be obscured by this data.

Any photo editing program should be able to show you this data, probably in a separate window. Most photo printing software likewise can print this data, either on top of the picture or in the margins or on the back. Please refer to the documentation for whatever program(s) you're using.

I have the following message and I understand the problem may be with Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 The appplication has failed to start because connAPI.DLL was not found. Re-install may fix the problem

Hi there.

Do one of the following solutions: Solution 1: Remove the NOKIAManager.mox file.

  1. Exit Photoshop Elements.
  2. Open the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 6.0\moxplugins folder.
  3. Move the NOKIAManager.mox file to the Recycle Bin, or another location such as your desktop.
  4. Restart your computer.
Note: The NOKIAManager.mox plug-in file is required for Adobe Photo Downloader to download photos from a Nokia mobile phone. If you use a Nokia mobile phone, use Solution 2. If you later decide to use a Nokia mobile phone, either move the NOKIAManager.mox file back to the original location or reinstall Photoshop Elements.
Solution 2: Install or reinstall the Nokia PC Suite software.

Note: Only use this solution if you connect a Nokia mobile phone to your computer.

In order to communicate with a Nokia mobile phone, your computer must have the Nokia PC Suite software installed. Install the software to allow Adobe Photo Downloader to communicate with the phone and download photos from it. If you have previously installed Nokia PC Suite but are still getting this error message, uninstall and reinstall the software or upgrade to a newer version. For more information about Nokia PC Suite, contact Nokia or visit the Nokia web site.

Solution 3: Disable Adobe Photo Downloader.

  1. Open the Organizer in Photoshop Elements.
  2. Choose Edit > Preferences > Camera or Card Reader.
  3. Disable the Auto Launch Adobe Photo Downloader On Device Connect option.
  4. Click OK.
Note: This solution will prevent Adobe Photo Downloader from starting when Windows starts, and it will not appear automatically when you plug in a camera, card reader, flash memory drive, or other memory device. When you plug in one of these devices, and in order to download photos into the Organizer, you will need to start Photoshop Elements and choose File > Get Photos or Videos > From Camera or Card Reader.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

I don't have the Photo Loader software

The Arcsoft software that comes with most, if not all, Panasoniccameras is available as a trial download on the internet. The freeversion is only available on the disk that came with the camera. However, if you are using Windows XP (or maybe even Vista) you can usea free photo edit/organizer program such as Google's Picasa. As long asyour computer recognizes the camera when connected, you can use mostany software. If this doesn't work, you can try using a usb card readerand removing the card from your camera and accessing your images thatway.

Picasa

Hope this helps.
