Hi, i need some help with my linksys wrt54g router. i am having a problem (as many do) playing the game starcraft. when i go to play on battle.net, i cannot create a game or when i go to join a game, there is incredible lag if there is more than two people (me being one of them). i am playing it on my laptop through a wireless connection. my home computer is not trying to play starcraft. i have portforwarded the router to send anything from port 6112 to my laptop (static ip of 192.168.1.3). i have also allowed anything to do with starcraft or port 6112 through any firewalls on my laptop. i have updated the firmware on the router. using portforward.com and their port checking software, they say that my ports are not open. looking on some sites i have heard that it could be a problem with 'double-nat', but i have no idea how to fix this. my modem is an embarq 660.

I suggest if possible to just run an ethernet cable from your router to your Xbox, then it's up to your Internet package(i.e. slow ,fast, light whatever) especially when it comes to online multi-player games, hope it helps
Wireless speed is significantly lower than wire speed. If you suspect your trouble is speed related, I suggest you connect to your router with Cat 5 ethernet wire - available where computer supplies are sold.
I think wireless is 10 and I am certain that wire is 100 - unless you have a 1000 router and NIC adapter.
Log into your router, type routerlogin.net in your PCs web browser and configure a static IP for each of them. Also if your using wire-less its probably better to have at least one wired, both if you can. I've played my ps3 on a wireless-N router that was about three feet away and I lagging while playing killzone 2.
I like linksys they have a website www.linksys.com and check your version number and see if its up to date the have most manuals for there routers there also is you need anymore help some games like starcraft work better if you punch holes in your firewall also if you use DSL your DSL modem will have to be setup to work with it also you may have to contact your internet provider depending on the situation to help get all ducks in a row if there modem might be the problem with the connection loss?
