Im having HP Deskjet 6943, I have install black and colour catridge. I print test page its coming ok. But when i try to print colour in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint i not getting colour, what could be the problem?

It is a test alignment page and MUST be printed in order for the printer to align the cartridges, to avoid one colour over there, another here etc. If it is an all in one, you will need to scan it after it prints. Otherwise, there will be a scanner inside the printing part. There is no way to stop it unless you change the firmware and end up with a printer that can't print correctly anymore.

If the test page is working in colour then it's most likely your printer settings. Go into the settings when printing and ensure that greyscale or black/white printing is not turned on.

Chances are you colour cartridge is empty, the black will print green if colour cartis empty

HP Deskjet 5550 Printer.

The deskjet printers should not be kept idle.

At least once in two or three days, you can take one page print out.

This has to be done, otherwise, the inks both Black and colour will get frozened and sometimes it will become dry at the catridge mouth.

Black Ink is 56 and Colour is 57.

Solution :

01. Manually remove both catridges from the printer carefully.

02. Shake the catridges with full force pointing towards ground. You can find out now, that ink is coming out from the catridges which was frozen or dried up.

03. Clean the cartridge drive with a nice cloth and cleaning liquid.

04. Re install both catridges and take a test print out.

05. Recommended to have a service contract with local HP Authroized printer vendor to have a regular maintenance at least once in a month.

seems ur color catridge is empty with some colors, go for refill or replace

Try printing a test page. If it comes out missing colors, the you color cartridge is bad. HP test pages will print each of the 3 colors by them selves, so you can see if you are getting all colors. If this prints ok, the I would think it is not a printer problem.

check printing preference on color tab.

change the color cartridge and instead of Black,,use Photo Cartridge..

remove the Printer Catridge & clean the belw points where the INK come out, & shake properly & insert,

May be catridge ink got dried,

This is Romeet, id like to try and help. Assuming you have windows XP installed,

go to "Start", select " Printers and Faxes"

go to your printer ( HP deskjet 3745 ) and right click it and select properties.

Click on " Print Test Page ", tell me what color does the Printout come in.
