What does a flashing red arrow mean? And the flash isn't working all of the time. Is there anything i can do to fix this problem?

Hi. It’s either the Main Body or Battery that’s faulty. It’s rare for the main body to fail and quite common for the battery to fail.



Red = flashing 1 to 10 times means needs a new body

Red -= flashing 11 or more times means needs a new battery

Blinking red means just focusing. Blinking arrow means that flash is not ready. Try to factory reset it but if that doesn't help bring camers to repair.

Check the power supply. IT might have bad caps.

Do you just have a blank black screen once powered on? If you hook up the controller with the usb link cable, do the lights on the controller flash all four or is the 1 solid? If they are flashing, then you have what is commonly known as the Green Light of Death. It's when everything appears normal but no picture. A red flashing lightening bolt can mean different things on different camera's. The most common are that you are too far away from the object you want to take a picture of. That the flash on the camera needs to be turned off and that the flash itself is charging up and won't allow a picture to be taken.

Try turning the flash off and see if it will let you take a picture.

Have you tried to reset the camera to the factory defaults? To do this: have the camera in shooting mode - go to Menu - left arrow to reset - press ok - Highlight Yes and press ok. This will reset the camera to factory settings. See if flash works now.

It means that the battery is charging the flash! Wait a while and it should stop. Then take your photo.

Do make sure your battery is fully charged.

this problem is fixable. set the camera under the fill-in flash mode. do the ff:
-click the flash button, (right button that has broken arrow on it)
-click it for many times until you see the icon of a big crooked arrow without something with it on the screen, that means your camera is nder the fill in flash.

when set under this mode, the flash will work in any instance you're in. because under the red eye function, flash is usually turned off.

Hello, please check how many times the red light flashes. If it is 3 times this means that the lamp cover is not fastened securely. If the red light flashes 5 times this means that the lamp driver is defect. If you need more help please advice

Use the right arrow button on the arrow pad. There is a little pic of a lighting bold beside a pic of a camera on the top left hand corner. Push the right arrow button and look at that lightning bolt you will see it changing. There are three different ones. One has a ling through it and that means no flash on had an "A" on it that stands for automatic and then you will see just a pic of the bolt without anything. Not to sure what means either.
