I have a Kenmore top load, high efficiency, low water washer. How to get to rinse and spin ?

May be a bad door switch. Washers usually let you open the machine (top load) while in wash, but not for rinse and spin because of the high speed. If the door switch is bad, it may think the door is always open and therefore wont go past the wash cycle.

After working well for six months, my washer now expels water at random points during the wash and rinse cycles.

Check inside the fill hose for debris. There is a screen designed to block debris from getting inside the machine valve. If the screen builds up with debris the water slows down. Sounds like the water is filling too slow. Also the unit and/or the load may not be balanced causing it to stop and drain out. If it's okay then see what lights are blinking when these events occur and post here.

The machine starts going thru the wash Cycle and then it goes past the rinse cycle and then it shows OL after the spin cycle.. It even does this when you have no cloths in it. I went to rinse and spin...

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. oL flashes when the machine/motor control detects a load size that exceeds the washer’s capacity. Open the door lids to clear display, remove excess laundry, then restart the cycle. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Frigidaire top load washer won't rinse

this can be two issues. One could be the control knob. there could be a malfunction here. secondly, you may have a faulty water valve assembly. the relay or solenoid may need to be replaced. i would start with the control knob.

Maytag neptune won;t rinse

Check latch mechanism for alignment. Often operation of machine loosens latch mechanism causing internal switch for "door open (or ajar)" preventing rinse or spin cycle. Opening and closing door presses latch mechanism closing internal switch allowing for continue processing to rinse or spin cycles.

Bad noise at begining of rinse cycle.

It sounds like your gear case (transmission) has gone bad. If the washer fills and agitates that tells me that the problem cannot be with the motor coupling and drive motor. It also rules out a pump problem if the washer completes a wash cycle and drains properly. The only thing left is the gears inside the transmission. Sometimes they go bad in a way that portions of the wash will work while others don't. The part number is 3360629 and the price usually runs about $150. I hope this may help you in some way.
