Use a vista driver... or xp... and use compatibility mode on the driver... the driver may not be out yet... if it is it will be on the sharp support website...

If the printer is old, it is very possible there are no drivers in Windows 7.
I have spoken to Dell and Microsoft about other issues.
It is up to the manufacture, Not Microsoft to upgrade the driver.
If the manufacture wishes to leave the product as old, they move on with the new and current products.
It is possible you may need to use either Vista, or even XP in order for this printer to work.
However, depending on your printer, there may also be a diagnostic mode you may have to enter in order to tell the machine the different configuration setup of the main copier itself.
There are many various configurations to the model. If you have a service manual for it, it will be a great help. Drivers are not the total answer in making the machine work.
I would need more information about the problems, sights of menus, messages in order to continue to resolve this matter.

The L6 code means trouble with the laser unit ( polygon motor), it has to be replaced. The laser unit is under the exit tray. Hope this helps.

Currently Sharp does not have any specific drivers for this model that are compatible with vista. But if you go to www.sharpusa.com under customer support, product downloads. You might try using the AR-M160 drivers. They are practically the same machine. For the model choose model not listed and manually type in AR-M160.
