I assume this is an Electrolux Canister with long narrow body and a dial control on top for adjusting the bag fill level.. Please confirm model and name on canister, as in LE, Ambassador, Renaissance, etc.
If this is a plastic bodied unit with 2 side bumpers the body opens like a **** shell after sliding the bumpers out the front. The normal cause is a failed control valve under the dial at the top center of the vac. The failed part can only be replaced, not serviced and can purchased through an AERUS Electrolux repair center. Please confirm and I can wa;lk you through the process if required

Argh. I have the same problem. I would like to just shut off this 'feature' so I can use my vacuum again. Is there any way I can do this myself? I do have the canister with th e long narrow body and the dial control on top (never knew what that was for).

How do you take apart electrolux canister vacuum #2100?

ok, you need to bypass the auto shut of. Put the vac on it's side and pull off the sliders on both sides.Carefully pull machine apart.lift the front of the piece that hold you bag.Underneathe there is a clear tube plugged in to a round thing on switch area.Simply pull the tube out of the rouind trhing. This will allow you to fillthe bag without shut dow.Just make sure your bag doesn't get too full....Chris

Aerus Lux 7000: the full bag light keeps coming on but the bag is not full.

Electrolux uses a pressure differential control valve. This valve measures air before and after the bag. There is a orfice or small hole where the hose connects to the vacuum cleaner, and a orice at the back of the bag canister. As the bag fills up the suction pressure reduces at the hose connection and increases at back of the bag canister. When this happens the control valve has a diaphram that closes, which shuts the vacuum off and gives you a full bag light. There is a thin plastic flange that prevents an o ring on the control valve stem from coming off. The flange breaks, the o rings comes off the stem and the vacuum will shut down indicatiing bag full. The after market price is about 22.00. The valve is easy to replace if you are familiar on electrolux vacuums. When I replace these valves, I use epoxy two part plastic putty on the flange of the valve. It takes 2 days to cure, but the flange will not break.

Electrolux Model 2100 vacuum won't work

hi from uk may i suggest you remove cover and the new dust collection bag then if you look in the bag compartment there is a gauze filter fitted usually grey in colour ? at opposite end of compartment where bag connects this gauze filter is the outlet from bag compartment that the air exhales when vac is operating ie as vac **** up dust into bag the bag has microscopic holes that allow sucked up air and dust to collect but keeps dust from passing into bag chamber but allows air to escape thro holes and so enter bag chamber then escapes via the gauze filter to outside of vac hope you follow this ?? now if this filter is blocked/never been cleaned/changed ? then the symptoms of indicator bag full light will come on you can remove and wash filter if it is gauze typ? dry and refit then try vacuuming ? or replace filter they are not expensive usually in pack of 3 in uk DO NOT RUN VAC WITHOUT THIS FILTER FITTED ! or you will have some dust in the room ? hope this helps?

Bag was full, changed it, the unit now turns off

Try dialing the control valve to the mid way position. If the unit still shuts down with the bag full light on you have a damaged control valve under the dial on the top of the vac.
This valve failure is common in this model and can only be repaired by someone with original AERUS Electrolux repair parts, generally at an AERUS repair shop.

Vacuum shuts off, bag light on, runs fine without hose connected

I'm not sure if I understand your problem completely, but if it is your full bag indicator that is coming on, even with a new bag, it's probably your control valve. These can be replaced by your dealer. When working correctly, the control valve should trigger the off switch when the differential pressure gets too great between the front of the bag housing and the area behind the bag. When it goes bad, it will indicate that you need to change your bag, even when you don't. Good Luck!!

Electrolux Epic 6500SR Full Bag sensor working, Does not Reset properly

The problem was a sticking switch that was not being reset. The vacuum on/off switch mechanism is comprised of two switches. One is the main switch that turns the vacuum on and off. The second is a shut off switch that gets tripped when the full bag sensor is engaged. This second switch is supposed to get reset when you push the on/off switch on the outside of the machine. The full bag shutoff switch was stiff and it, therefore, was taking a couple of presses of the on/off switch to move the shutoff switch back into the running position.

Full bag system works properly, but doesn't reset easily

Either there is something wrong with your switch. Which it doesnt sound like it. Take it to your dealer or call another one it sounds like the control valve needs to be replaced. I am a dealer 1-866-966-9350.
