2 red lights on my sons xbox and something making loud noise when trying 2 run /its 2 years old!!!

Could be bad bearings in the fan they are replaceable.

your battery capacitor or inductor has gone bad....try to tap your battery hard on hand..and they try it, if it works..else u have to replace it..

ok you are in a lot of trouble! but first never use that towle trick because if something else happens to youre xbox you cant send it to xbox!
now what you need to do is go on the xbox website and find help then you need to find further help then find their phone number ring them up tell them the problem answer some questions. they may ask what kind of games you have playedso tell them. theyl tell you to seperate the core (the bit at the top) which will alow you to keep memory. now they may tell you someone is going to pick up the hardrive. theyll pick it up and youll get it back in some time!!!

you probably did something to where you messed up your xbox motherboard, making it (after less then a minute of power) get short circuited and power fails. i would recommend getting it repaired by microsoft if you have a warranty.

What type of noise's ? loud ? like somethings loose ? Just buy an external fan if it runs loud

There is a way to do it yourself .If u go to google or yahoo and type in repair my xbox360 3 red lights for free .U might have to fish round for a while to find a free guide.
Or the other simple option is to ring xbox as all 360s have a three year warranty which includes the red light problem.They will even come to pick it up then fix it and deliver it back to u all for free.I cant remember the number but if u go to your local Game store they will have it on a leaflet.
