you can use a special audio cable avalible at walmart http://www.walmart.com/ip/Axis-41248-Axis-Digital-Optical-Toslink-Cable-6/21089610
OR
buy one of these and hook the white and red audio cables to the imput on the surround sound http://www.bestbuy.com/site/eForCity+-+Optical+Audio+Adapter+for+Xbox+360+HDMI+AV+Cable+Gaming+-+Gray/4338413.p;jsessionid=1645495912DD7B9466A02420184C1551.bbolsp-app04-148?id=1218475496784&skuId=4338413
i have the same system. all you have to do is when you connect your xbox 360, press the surround button on the remote and then use the arrow buttons to change it to dolby music pro2 or multi channel audio. same goes with any device you connect. hope it helps. In my case the xbox is connected to the Tv via HDMI and bluray player is connected to xbox via compoent cable
HDCP is the "handshake" protocol used by the Xbox to communicate via HDMI to your TV. The optical cable wouldn't have anything to do with this error. So far the only solution that's been found to this issue is to ensure that the HDMI cable is properly plugged in and power off/on both devices and see if the handshake is restored. If this doesn't work you may need a new HDMI cable.
Connect audio out cables (L and R) from HDTV to far left audio input at back of hts 3555. Then connect HDMI output from XBOX360 to HDMI input slot on TV. Setup XBOX 360 for audio through HDMI turn TV off and then on and all should be good. It worked for me.
If your TV is HD, you should definitely be connecting the component video cables (green, blue and red) from the 360 to the TV (the 321 will not do video pass-thru from component cables).
-Make sure you have a picture at this point. (TV switched to whichever input you connect the 360 to)
You can get an RCA extension cable for the audio portion (red and white) to connect to the 321 for audio. You could also connect an optical audio cable to the 321. An optical cable must be assigned from the system menu to work..
Let me know if this helps.
no, there's no firmware upgrade that you can do on the tv. the reason for that is because you are sending digital sound to the tv with hdmi from xbox 360,and when you have rca cables connecting your tv and surround sound, the rca cables provide stereo sound. what you need to do if you want to use hdmi is connect optical cable from tv orxbox 360/ or tv to your surround sound to get digital sound, and it will sound better digital sound.
If you want to play 5.1 sound, and you got to need this fiber optic cable(black single cable)..with reciver decoder with optical on IN, to connect the xbox 360 machine on, and the high defintion cable of the xbox.
