Fk1 error code - Sharp MX-2700N Color Copier

Yes it will if SNMP is ticked in the Ports tab situated in the printer properties of the print driver. To check this open up Printers & Faxes on the PC, right click the sharp printer & select "printer properties" Click on the 3rd tab along(Ports) & on the lower left hand side you should see the SNMP box. If it is ticked then untick it, apply & OK. This should allow to print. If this box is ticked then when the copier displays any maintenance code it wiil allow copying but not printing.

FK1 refers to the maintenance life counter for the fuser unit.
The fuser rollers have a fixed life count & when that count is reached FK1 is displayed. If the rollers are worn they should be replaced but if they are ok you can reset the fuser maintenance counter in SIM 24-4 FUSER UNIT

That is a maintanence code. Usually says that the fuser rolls are at a certain copy count.
Here is what to do.
Press in order on the consol. # * C * That will enter the machine into what is called SIM mode.
Then enter the number 24 then 4 for that code, then press execute. You may want to just do the clear all maintenance code too.

It means that your fuser unit has reached its lifespan: you can still use the machine but be aware you will need a fuser rebuild in the near future

Your fuser has gone past 200,000 sheets of usage and it's time for a rebuild. You could reset the counter with sim code 24 but eventually it will clog up with waste toner and your rollers will tear up. Sharp has rebuild kits for your or you could just buy a new one.

What happened was there was an arc between layers of the multi-layer circuit board in the HCA2400 power amp at the rear of the unit. It takes extensive labor to repair the board and $20 of parts.

If you replaced the fuse or if no lights come on, it likely took out the power supply too... that is about $30 of parts.

IF THE LIGHTS still come on, get a replacement HCA2400 module (includes heat sink) and replace it. They cost about $175 online.

I have repaired several of these, but it requires a lot of skill and time to repair the module as the burned area must be carved out and replaced with jumpers and several semiconductors have to be replaced and probably a metering resistor which is usual source of the smoke.

You have a bad FUSER unit....expensive!! It is not heating up.

fuser count has reached 200,000 copies. hit P*C* then 24, start, then 4 start. select Fuser Unit and Fuser Acum Day then execute at bottom then yes. Hit CA button. copier should reboot and clear code.
