RCA stinks! Bought this TV new on Black Friday '06 just because the price was great. Our other TV went out in Jan. 07 so we had our new RCA as back up. On 3/9/07 the RCA went out. After a run around with the repair shops, we finally got it back the end of May beginning of June 2007. They had to replace the SBT, Green CRT and a CRT PCB. 8/4/07 it started rolling and faint line about 4 inches wide would start from the bottom and work it's way up. We still continued to watch it instead of being without a TV again for months.
Fast forward to Dec. 2007. TV out again, upon powering up green light flashes 3 times then goes out.
I found out this morning 1/9/08 that on Dec. 26 they ordered a Power Deflection Board. Then on 1/7/08 they had to order more of the same parts as last time when it went out, A GCRT Board, Green CRT and CRT blue.
I phoned NEW about replacing the TV. They have a 3 time Lemon Law. The tv has to be repaired 3 times for the identical reason and on the 4th time that the tv goes out, a technician will diagnose the prob. If it's the same as the other 3 times, they will replace the TV. WHOOPEEEEEDO! Don't I feel luck that I stupidly bought an RCA.
Anyways, just got off the phone with the repair shop. BLUE CRT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE and there are no compatible replacement parts for it. Was told that RCA will either buy out our TV or replace. My question is, if they replace it, does it HAVE to be another RCA?!?!?!?! If they buy it out, how do they come up with a figure?!?!?!
