My frigidaire affinity front load dryer shows the error code Ad. What does that mean? the dryer still runs and drys the clothes - but they don't get completely dry. i looked in the manual and can find nothing.

Check for clogged exhaust vent.

I believe that code means auto dry. Lets make sure the lint and dust is clear from the machine. Check all of your wiring out well since is generally a cause. You may ave to replace the thermistor. Have you gotten any other code along with this.

AD is not actually an error code, but is typically considered an Air Dry setting or feature on the unit.

Great. This is the same error my electric dryer is showing now...

During normal operation, the display may show: “ad” - dryer is in an auto dry cycle. “dn” - cycle is done in auto dry. “PF” - a power failure to the board has occurred. “Err” - an error has been detected. “LOC” - control lock is activated. “PAU” - cycle has been interrupted.

All this is doing is letting you know that the Auto dry sensors are kicked in and checking to see how dry the clothing is.

AD means "auto dry", which means the dryer is supposed to be detecting the moisture levels in your clothing and adjusting the drying time accordingly.

If your dryer is flashing "AD" and turning off shortly after the start, there is likely a problem with the mechanism designed to detecting the moisture levels. If it turns off after trying to use all various settings (including the no-heat feature), it is likely a wiring issue.

I HAVE A FRIGIDAIRE AFFINITY DRYER (AEQ6000CE32). WHENEVER I PUT THE CLOTHES IN IT JUST SPINS FOR 10 TO 15 MINUTES AND SHUTS OFF BEFORE THE ALLOTTED TIME. THERE IS NO HEAT IN THE DRYER. ANY SLOUTIONS?
