I cant download my DCR-TRV250 Digital 8 videos to my computer. I tryed on Win 7 and Win XP, with or without Sony drivers... But no computers recognize my cam. Also I looked for help on Sony eSupport, but...

From the Sony support page for this camera, it has the following:
  • Drivers:
    • The drivers needed to connect your Sony camcorder to a computer and transfer files are already included in the operating system.
  • Not Supported:
    • The USB streaming feature is not supported with the Windows 7 operating system.
    • The Windows 7 Starter edition is not supported.

From the user manual page 184, they explain how to connect a iLink (IEEE 1394) cable from the camcorder to your computer. Since "USB streaming feature is not supported with Windows 7" as stated above, you now how to retrieve your video using the iLink connection instead.
Unfortunately, the camera does not come with an iLink cable, so you have to buy one. Additionally unfortunate is the fact that many computers do not have a IEEE 1394 connector to use with the iLink cable. As a result, you have to buy an adapter card for your desktop computer or hope that your laptop has a built-in IEEE 1394 port.
Once you get the iLink to IEEE 1394 issue resolved, you can then use the software provided by Sony or any DV capture software to download high quality copies of the video from your DCR-TRV250.

Connect JVC GR-D240ek to vista laptop

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

A firewire to USB will not work. It has to be firewire to firewire. A JVC GR-D240ek uses 4-pin, IEEE 1394 compliant Digital Video Connector [DV OUT] to connect a 1394 cable (also known as a FireWire or i.Link cable) to a laptop equipped with an equivalent IEEE 1394 port. Please note that some laptops firewire port could either be 4 pins or 6 pins.

Soon as that connection as shown above is established, you can use Windows Import Video to capture / download the videos.

Other notes (from the same Windows Help link above) :
  • You can also open Windows Import Video by using Windows Movie Maker. After you connect ... your DV camera, and your computer, start Windows Movie Maker, turn on your DV camera, put it into playback mode, and Windows Import Video should open automatically.
  • You can also open Windows Import Video by using Windows Photo Gallery. After you connect ...your DV camera, and your computer, start Windows Photo Gallery, turn on your DV camera, and put it into playback mode. In Windows Photo Gallery, click File, click Import from Camera or Scanner, click your DV camera in the list of devices, click Import, and then follow the instructions.
  • You can also open Windows Import Video by using Windows Live Photo Gallery. (This options requires you to install Windows Live on your computer.) After you connect your...your DV camera, and your computer, start Windows Live Photo Gallery, turn on your DV camera, and put it into playback mode. In Windows Live Photo Gallery, click File, click Import from a camera or scanner, click your DV camera in the list of devices, click Import, and then follow the instructions.
Verify that the laptop's firewire port is 100% up to specs and totally compliant to IEEE 1394.

God luck and thank you for using FixYa.

PC wont see my Panasonic NV-DS50

Generally when you connect the camera via USB Windows XP and Vista activate native drivers and the camera becomes visible under "My Computer" (XP) or "Computer" (Vista) as a removable drive. However, probably will not be visible by capture software. In that case you would need to use a DV interface cable otherwise known as firewire and have the camcorder in playback mode.

CPU not recognizing my camcorder

I hope you are connecting the camera to the Fire wire port of the camera, if not, if you are using a desktop, you require a an addon card called IEEE 1394 firewire card, which you have to install it on your motherboard's PCI slot, then using the firewire cable which you get along with the card should be connected to the card and DV port of the camera, then using the MOVIE MAKER software of windows XP, you can download the video.
