I just got this TV from a family member. I hooked it up and it worked great. Two weeks later I returned to my apartment and it looked like I took my 3-D glasses off during a 3-D movie. I tried the auto focus and the red light plus sign will not line up with the blue and green light. I know that it is probably a convergence thing, but is there any easy way to fix the light. The closest repair place to me is an hour away. I had to rent a trailer to get it to my apartment. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thank you!
You have lost red convergence. which ussally means one or both of the convergence amps need to be replace.. but it could be a resistor. does the red cross move up or down or side to side. how about the blue does it move in eather direction. this will let me know if both are bad
this to me indicates bad convergence ic...maybe just one. if i was troubleshooting this set i would say i would need to check this chip. ussally you replace both.. depending on set convergence chips can be difficult to replace. lot of soldering so i would let a qualified tech look at it
O yes.. this now points me toward one of the convergence ouput ic "RESISTORS" are bad. theres resistor for veritical and horizontal.

Thanks for the quick response. I can move the blue crosses in all directions and when I auto focus, they line up with the green crosses without a problem. I can not move the red crosses at all. Thanks again for the help.
I looked at my TV again last night and the red crosses do move vertically. So the problem is that the red crosses will not move horizontal. Does this change your prognosis?
