How do u change the time setting on the JVC HR-XVC-17

To set AM/PM (12 hour) or Military (24 hour) time - Press the On/Off button once to turn your Wave radio off.

Press and hold Clock Set, and then press On/Off to switch between AM/PM (12 HR) or military (24 HR) formats

Try codes 003, 012, 024 or 066.

No You will need the remote

To program the recording by time and channel, press Prog then press Start +/- (the left-most +/- button below the number pads). You should see the time and channel blanks. Continue pressing the Start +/- button until you get to the desired start time. If you press and hold the Start +/- button, the time will advance by 30 minutes. To set the Stop time, press the next button to the right (the Stop +/- button) until you reach the desired end time. Use the next toggle button (to the right) to set the Date for the recording. Use the Channel +/- button (the right-most button in the row) to set the channel to record. Set the tape speed with the SP/EP button below the Date toggle. Then press Prog or OK to save the recording. This is in the manual under Express Timer Recording which starts on page 42 of the manual. On the VCR its self hold in the + and - buttons to set the tracking manually.

well, since I speak spanish I can tell you how to do it.
First you go to the Clock Menu as you are changing the time. then After that you press the 'FF" button on the control. that should fix your problem.

I have the same problem with my JVC HR-XVC 27U
