Will replacement motor 266520 fit SGS53E72EU/71 Bosch dishwasher

The motor for that model is 489652, I think you'll find that the two middle tags on the original motor are linked and one of the original wires has a smaller spade connector so can only go on a specific connection. As for the cap can you use the coupling from the old one?? What are the symptoms to need to replace motor?

My bosch dishwasher will not drain and makes a humming noise

Humming noise is an indication of your drain motor getting power but not spinning. Either your drain pump is defective and needs to be replaced, or something is stuck in the pump preventing it from draining out the water. Either way you will have to take the dishwasher out and get at the pump from the bottom of the machine.

My dishwasher(Bosch) makes sqeeling sound almost like beeping at the beginning of its cycle what is a problem?

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description " makes squealing sound almost like beeping at the beginning of its cycle "...it is likely to be either the pump impeller or the inlet valve.

With the Bosch built line of dishwasher`s this is a known problem...the carbon ring ( spring ) of the impeller pump seal kit. ( make sure it is indeed a SHU9915UC before ordering parts )

**Most common in units not used regularly, i.e. in a holiday cottage or vacation property, but time to time on daily used as well unfortunately...but also due to the heat from normal wear & tear**

You first must determine which is the source of course. Does the noise begin after filling with water and the pump starts, or does it begin upon the filling of water ?

If it's the valve, make sure the water supply line is completely "open" and if so replace the valve with part #425458

i.e.

If it is the motor wash impeller squeeling It can be remedied by one of two methods, replacing the entire motor & pump assy part # 442548...

i.e.

e3a16c5.jpg

This retails between $99.00us. to as much as $170.00us. depending where you look. I usually go through "searspartsdirect.com" for about $100us. ( you can also investigate "repairclinic.com" or "appliancepartspros.com" to name a few.

Or if you are mechanically inclined, replacing the pump impeller kit. part # 167085

i.e.

08f460f.jpg
The kit is typically around $50 -$75us, hence it can be cheaper when factoring labour for the complete motor/pump assy.

This is a pretty involved repair to explain, in fact I think it is harder to explain than actually do...but I`ve done many.

If you`d like to provide me with an email address I can attach a file in "pdf" showing you step by step how you can do this without much cost at all really...likely your time will be the greatest expense.

Let me know how you`d like to proceed and I`ll help in whatever manner I can.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

A screaming noise seems to be coming from the metal cylinder (capacitor ?)above the pump on the right side of the dishwasher. Makes noise only when the pump is on.

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa

Based on your description, "A screaming noise seems to be coming from the metal cylinder (capacitor ?)above the pump on the right side of the dishwasher. Makes noise only when the pump is on" It is likely the carbon impeller seal inside the pump assembly you`re hearing.

It looks like this...

57c9c85.jpg

It is located in that area, but inside the pump housing. It is a well known issue with the B/S/H/ dishwashers ( Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau, Siemens ) and a service bulletin was issued to authorized techs. some years back.

It can be remedied in one of two methods, complete pump/motor assembly shown below, or just the impeller kit shown above.

47d4ca2.jpg

The part number to replace it for the complete assy is # 442548 or the kit # 167085.

Both are available at several on-line depots such as "searspartsdirect.com" "repairclinic.com" to name a couple.

If you`d like to email me at my live account [email protected] I can send you a complete service file on how to repair it with part numbers, procedure etc.

Thank you for choosing FixYa. Please keep me posted on your progress or if you need further assistance.

Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Dishwasher began leaking underneath when turned on. Humming as if trying to start, but nothing further exept water on floor

I don't know how old this dishwasher is but the symptom your describing sounds like the ceramic water seal on the bottom of the impeller assy but above the motor has failed. When the seal fails it allows water to run though the motor and then the bearings in the motor fail. Once water starts running though a dishwasher motor they are pretty much shot. The reason for this is that the leak starts out slow and it leaks for a long period before you ever see the water under the dishwasher. So by the time you see the leak water has been going through the pump / motor assy for weeks or months. By that time the service technicians only option is to replace the motor pump assy.

My kenmore 665 dishwasher will not pump water to the lower and upper spinner arms. The pump entry screen assy seems to have one tear in it and is dirty. However water does come out if I take off the lower...

Good eye--- Pull kick panel and look underneath. use a bright light to see if there is any drippage or what looks like corrosion on bottom of aluminum motor case. If you see this crud, then motor/pump seal has failed and motor is bad. About 100 motor/100 labor. Let me know if info helps- ED

My bosch classixx dishwasher won't drain

It doesnt take much to stop a drain motor from rotating. If you dont know the bosch washer, you will find it almost impossible to get into it One thing, if the door is opened, the bottom tray removed then the sieves untill no loose items are left, you will notice a little piece of plastic that can be pulled out to allow you access to your drain pump impellar. Remove the obstruction and turn with your finger. Does it turn easily.? if so reassemble and try again.(note if you dont replace the plastic part back properly, the pump will run but not pump correctly.)

Bosch SHV66A03uc built in

There is no easy repair on a Bosch dishwasher. I guess Bosch figured it would run forever. To replace anything (except the wash motor start capacitor) you will have to remove the dishwasher, flip it upside down to do most repairs.
