I had this same problem and in addition as it ran water dripped out the bottom while the dishwasher was running just before the tap light came out. Check the outlet hose is not blocked. Ours was blocked at the T junction where it met the sink outlet. Once the blockage was cleared we hit another problem - the pump kept trying to drain - even when the door was open. Found an excellent solution to that on this site. It had occured as the previous problem had casued the flood switch to be triggered. We had to tile the sihwasher back 45 degrees to fix it. Now its workig fine again.

The tap signs means there is a problem with the water flow in or out of the machine.
if you remove the lid and take the two t20 screw off the left side panel at the front you could check the pressure chamber and its hose are not blocked. Use the link and go to page 4, part 263834 and 361113. You can also remove 165263 (remove t20 screw via the sump after all filters are removeds) this will expose the pump impellor and you can check for any obstruction. If the d/w is connected via a sealed spigot to the sink, remove the grey hose and unscrew the spigot adaptor from the sink and ensure there are no blockages. There may be water in the base of the d/w (base as below the tank, not under the filter) this will activate the flood safety, so check valve, hoses etc for leaks. You will have to manually clear the water from the base pan to deactivate the safety device. Sit the front of the d/w on a large towel and tip the whole unit forward, the base water will then come out. Whilst you have the side panel off, check that the red rod connected to the pressure chamber is not activating the microswitch. Finally, the obvious check is that the water inlet tap that the d/w is connected to is in the on position. If none of these checks work then you may possibly have a problem with the impellor jug (424099) or the control module.

I hope this helps, Good Luck. Please leave feedback or repost for further assistance.

You can check the drain or the filter. You will have to pull it out of the space it is now to access it. Items will get stuck in the drain clogging it.
