Yes it is, for sure. We just need to diagnose the problem. First, if you unit has ice on the back inside wall of the freezer, you have a defrost problem that can mostlilely be solved by replacing the defrost heater. If not, we will move on.
If you can read a wiring diagram, go to www.partselect.com and enter your model number. This will bring up a blown up diagram so you can locate evey part or you unit plus your in luck, it also has wa wiring diagram included. By looking a the wiring diagram, there are only four thing that will prevent your compressor from running.
Checking temp control/ Take the two wires from part and connect together. If the unit starts running, you will need to replace control.
Defrost timer/ It has a round piece in the front of it with a slot on each side of the round piece that will let you turn it in only one direction. You can take a flat blade screw driver and turn. This advances the timer. Turn until you hear it click. If unit starts running, replace timer.
Run capacitor, overload and PTC relay/ If you can hear the compressor clicking around every 5 to 10 seconds, you will need to replace the part. The bast thing to do is replace all three pieces with a Supco 3 in 1. You can search Supco 3 in 1 and find one on the web. If you can use a meter, you might want to check your compressor to see if the windings are grounded. Take anyone of the 3 post coming out of the compressor and check continuity between it and ground. If it has continuity, it's bad and will cost a lot to replace. Also check for continuity between each post. If there is continuity, this is great and the Supco 3 in 1 will fix the problem. I have made this as simple as I know how but I also know that it's not simple to peolpe that don't work on these everyday like myself. I hope you the best and good luck.
