WHIRLPOOL CONTROL PANEL

I HAVE A WHIRLPOOL GS6SHEXNL00 SIDE BY SIDE. THE LIGHT AND TEMP DISPLAY IS NOT WORKING ON THE REFRIGERATOR SIDE, BUT THE FREEZER SIDE IS WORKING. THE REFRIGERATOR IS KEEPING TEMP JUST FINE.

ANY IDEAS???

    Same problem, lights on control panel are off. Refrig appears to work. Same fridge...I have the ML, not NL but believe that's simply a color change.

    I have the same problem - when the light bulb went out and I replaced it - the temperature and control panel went out.  when I take the bulb out the control panel goes back on.  I am interested in any solutions posted before I have to call a repairman.

    Same issue here. GS6SHEXNB00 model. Fridge works but no display and no interior light.

    I have the same problem, the control panel is not working and the light for the refrigerator side not working but the freezer light works. Same fridge also.

    I have this same problem no light or display on refrig side only. But still works ok. Also it makes a buzzing sound when you open the door like a relay chatter.

Hi. Your temperature control board display is bad. You may also have a power convertor board located next to the compressor. Normally you would replace the temperature control board first. I have a temperature control board listed on Ebay as item number 250211412492. Good luck, Mack

funny you asked this question i just had this same problem this week at a customers home. you need the electronic control board located in the compressor compartment behind the refrig. it is mounted in the white box on the left hand rear corner. the whirlpool part number is 2304095 and it is around 175.00 i'm not sure who a local part supplier around you would be if all else fails you could get thru sears..

Check that the wires going to the temp. display has power on them, if "yes" change temp. display......

Lights the powre goes to a switch on the door frame that sends power to the light in refrid.

Whirlpool GB22DKXGW00 stopped working while connected to a power inverter during a recent power outage. The light still works so I know it's not an outlet issue. Fan's not moving, no humming, just silence.
I would check your defrost timer it will be located at the bottom of the ref under the kickplate. You can manually advance it by hand and see if the unit will kick in. If this doest not correct the problem then I would assume that you have a bad temp control or a shorted compressor winding. You can try tapping on the control panel by your temp control with the back of a screwdriver and see if the unit will kick in. Hope this helps _MJ_

you need a new control panel, if your light bulbs blow out it surges the control board and ruins the control board and your symptoms of no lights and temp control points to the control board
