The microwave sounds like it has keypad control problem, behind the pad is the micro-controller board which controls vital areas of the oven, it needs to be checked out.

The keypad has a fault. Obtain a replacement keyboard and install.

A quick test. Switch off power then remove outer cover. Look for the transformer. remove the two wires connected to the primary side. Note, do not toutch anything else. power still sitting on the cap. With those two thin wires disconnected, make sure they are not toutching each other or leaning on the metal frame. Set a program that has been a problem and let it run. If it still stops and does what its not supposed to do, your board needs replacement.

H!, its either you have a defective magnetron, hv transformer or a leaky capacitor.

I tried a solution posted on another posting http://www.fixya.com/support/t242480-stops_cooking by placing the conductive plastic behind the control panel and it worked.

Did you spray cleaner directly on the control panel? Do you get any error codes in the display?
