Hey knapshak, Tommy Faust with DISH Network here. It would need to be programmed to the receiver in order to change programming. You can do that by following the steps below.

1. Access System Information screen from your main TV.
2. Note the number on the bottom of screen next to Remote Address.
3. Hold SAT until all buttons on top light up then release.
4. While SAT is blinking enter a number between 1-15 and press # (Different from number listed)
5. Press record 3 times and the number should change, try the remote and see if you can change channels.

If I understand you correctly, you are having a problem with you DISH Network remote operating your JVC TV? What type remote do you have? If you look on the back at the top, you will see an 2 digit number; e.g. 3.0 ir. Please let me know what the model number is and I can provide you with code to try to program the remote to your TV.

Hello, this is Nick Franta with DISH.

If you are trying to get the remote programmed to the receiver you can remove the smartcard from the receiver and that will prompt the system info screen. This will allow you to program the remote to the receiver.

If you need the process for programming the remote, here it is:

1. Go to System Info screen (in this case -- obtain by removing smartcard from receiver)
2. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
3. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
4. Press the pound (#) button
5. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record.

Ifyou are trying to program your remote to your TV I would need the model numberof the DISH remote and the brand name of your TV. You can find the model numberof your remote on the back of the remote at the top, usually a two to threedigit number with a decimal point. In order to get your remote addressed toyour DISH receiver box to control functions such as changing DISH channels andaccessing menus you would need to access the menus and change the remoteaddress. It sounds like the remote would need to be programmed to the receiver itself. It may have lost it's programming when the TV code was put in.

To program remote to Satellite:
1. Access System Information screen.
2. Note the # on the bottom where it was Secondary Remote Address.
3. Hold SAT until all buttons on top of the remote light up.
4. Let go and while it's blinking enter a number between 1-15 and press #
5. Press record 3 times and test remote.

Here is what I did for my Bose Solo Tv to work on the Bell 9242 receiver.( see page 17 of Bell 9242 guide) 1. Hold down the aux button until all lights flash. 2. Press 2 to ensure Aux is set to audio. 3.Enter code 761 and press the pound (#) button. Now to have the satellite remote default volume to Bose Solo do the following. 1.Press and hold AUX 2.press # pound 3. Press the + side of volume 4. Press 0 5. Press pound ( AUX button will flash 3 times) 6. Press SAT mode 7. Test the volume on Bose Solo. (see page 22 of Bell 9242 guide)
