The tv is jammed. Remote
It sounds as though you might have just accidentally pressed a button and changed the remote into an incorrect mode for example, tv, or aux modes. This would in fact prevent the remote from successfully working with the DISH Network receiver. If this is in fact the problem, then the remote simply needs to be put into "SAT" mode, once its back in SAT mode you will then be able to change channels, select menu, power receiver on and off, etc. The "SAT" button is labeled & in the upper left hand corner of the remote to put the remote back in satellite mode, please just press that SAT once and then release, the SAT button should briefly light up red & then the light will go out, you should then be able to use the remote again, to ensure remote was successfully changed back to SAT mode, you can press select or any other button you chose & as long as the SAT button lights up when you press another remote control button- then your all set to go & everything should be working once again! I hope this helps -please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with!

Can you use your dish Network remote to control your VCR ?
If the dish network remote control is universal it may work with limited functions. If the remote control has buttons labeled cd, receiver, cable or Aux etc. it might work. The manual will tell you for sure. It will also provide you with the proper code for the component to work.

Not all remote are compatible with all our receivers. Depending on the receiver and remote model numbers, if they are compatible you can readdress the remote to the receiver. I have provided a link for readdressing the remote to the receiver. I hope this helps.

How do you fix a black screen for a dish tv
I can definitely provide some assistance and get some steps to try to fix this. To ensure I get the correct steps, how long ago did this start? Does anything come up on the screen when you try to change the channel? Was anything changed in the install? When you turn the TV off, then on, does it say an input or a channel?Tommy FaustDISH Social Media Representative
Dish hd dvr remote won't work. brand new. it
It sounds like you have interference, try removing the uhf ant from the back of rec and promgram it straight from there. you can also hookup "bunny ears or a pigtail coax to the uhf ant port to increse uhf signal. also make sure the uhf ant is standing straight up.
AWA STB 262 doesn't work properly

With all receivers, depending upon the type cable going from the receiver to the TV, the TV is set either to a channel or an input setting (if using any cable other than a coax cable). I hope this helps.

Error code 024 on guide
Hi there! My name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media Department with DISH. It is my pleasure to help you. Please perform a hard reset on the receiver. To do a hard reset, you simply unplug the receiver from the power outlet it is connected to, leave it unplugged for 20 seconds, then plug it back in. The receiver reboot process takes about 5 minutes. Once the show is back on, try accessing your DVR again, if it is still not working, the receiver will need to be replaced. If this is still a problem, please feel free to email me at kimberly.escobar2dish.com with your account number so we can get this resolved.

It doesn't come on anymore
I had the same thing happen with my vip622 dvr, the fan ran constantly and the green light would flash...and no picture...well..I read through some things..and found out to get this receiver running correctly, you have to put it on a stand alone shelf with nothing on or around it..a milk crate underneath the table I have my TV on seems to have worked..for some reason this box can not be in an enclosed area...at all...having it sit all alone seems to be the only solution...I had to get a new HDMI cable to make it reach...but things seem to be fine now...(cross the fingers)!
New channels
the best thing to do is to call and ask your provider, they will have a form they can fill out for you to request specific programming, most pay-te;ecision companies are primarily occupied with acquiring high definition programming at this time though
