My casio exilim ex-s5 won't format the memory card?

Delete the photos off the internal memory and remove the battery. this will reset it the factory setting and that should clear it up

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

try formatting the card to fat 32 on a computer

Consider NOT using the USB connection.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Format the card using a card reader on computer and select file system as FAT

Check on the computer that it has only one file on card.

You MUST FIRST format ANY memory card that you plan on using with this camera. Otherwise we can't guarantee that they will work. Also, Casio has only tested 3 brands of memory cards and can say for sure that they will work with their cameras.....those brands are Toshiba, Panasonic and Sandisc. If it is neither of the above I would recommend getting a different card and making sure that you format it WITH THE CAMERA BEFORE USING. :)

It could be either a brand that is not supported or there could be something wrong with your card. Casio only recommends Sandisk, Toshiba and Panasonic memory cards. Try one of those brands and make sure you format it with your camera before trying to save pics to it.

Make sure that the SD card you are using is either a SanDisc, Toshiba, or Panasonic. Those are the only cards that have been tested with Casio cameras. Also make sure that you format the card WITH THE CAMERA before you try and use it the first time. If it still doesn't work I would try resetting the camera and then you should have no problem.

Make sure you format your memory card before you try to use it other wise it will save the pics to ur internal memory instead of the mem card.
