Question about Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z60 Digital Camera
I am trying to charge my battery, but my battery charger keeps blinking red...what does this mean- I checked to make sure its connected properly and I have also put a new battery in just to make sure it wasn't because the battery was no good. Please let me know how I can solve this.
Hey, I just had this problem with a Sanyo battery pack (and i thought it was the non-sanyo Li battery) and noticed it wasn't getting warm even 2 hours after "charging" and the red light was flashing - so i turned it off, disconnected the cable from the charger and realised it could go the other way, so tried that AND IT WORKED! i don't know what that cable is called, the 2-prong black cable, but give that a go (turn off in between!).

You have the polarity wrong on the charger. Take out the lead that goes between the wall and the transformer (black box) and plug it in so that it is the opposite way around (what was on the left is now on the right). The red light will stay on and the battery will charge

I was having the same problem. I went to the store I bought it from because I bought the extended warranty but they told me they couldn't help me. I then called Casio and I was told that there is a known problem with this particular battery. I called on a Monday and received the battery in the mail on a Thursday of the same week. They do not check when you bought the camera so as long as you say its is under a year old you are all set. Hope this helped.

Thanks for suggesting to call Casio for support. They are sending me a new battery as well. I was seconds away from walking out the door to try and purchase a replacement.

I have exilim s600 probably it around end of 2006 and dont really use it much, within months of my purchase i had the red blinking light on the cradle...i thought they had just given a bad battery so i purchased a new battery on my own(abt 30 bucks)...and i still have the same problem....i called Casio and it's probably because my purchase has been over a year that they said i had to mail my cradle, ac adaptor, battery etc to the their company...they couldnt just give me free battery..what a hassle, i havent bother to send it..so i just want to let any future Casio buyers not to ever buy a casio camera...i liked my casio camera when it worked but it's not a good investment for the long run( mines was close to 200 bucks )..i am lookin into buyin a Canon camera instead ...
i am not a happy Casio customer
Casio should do something about these batteries if it's been an ongoing common issue...
im sure that if u guys end up owning ur cameras after a year, they wont be giving u free replacement batteries without any hassle

I called Casio's support line and they say it is a known problem with the batteries. They had a new battery shipped out to me free of charge.

The reason this happens is that the battery is defective. I found this on multiple sites but www.casio.com also lists this as the reason for the problem.
When I put my camera on the cradle, why does the charge light- - -
B) Blink red? Answer: Battery defective.
Hope this helps!

This has happened to me a couple of times. I think you have to play with the battery a bit, wiggle it around... and then sometimes the light stays on and the battery charges... somehow I think this is an issue with the charger though....
