Either go directly to the Eureka internet site, or GOOGLE "eureka boss smart pet lover manual". Several options should be displayed to download the needed manual.

Where is the reset button the eureka the boss smart vac

There are many different models of Boss Smart vac so I can't say for sure without your model number but it most likely does not have a reset button. It may have a reset switch built into the motor.

Eureka Part Number: 61110B (Replaces 61110, 61110A)
And the roller i think: Genuine Eureka Brush roller part number 61250-3 for Eureka The Boss/Smart vac/smartvac ultra 4800 series vacuums including models 4870 and 4880
Hope this helps you.

I have a Eureka 'The Boss Smart Vac'. The beater

Yes, you need to replace the belt. You should actually change this belt every year. Here is a link to the belt you need and the manual which has instructions:

Eureka The Boss Smart Vac, beater bar stops turning when you use it on carpet

It is a simple fix that you need. Your belt needs to be replaced. After a period of time, the belt stretches to the point where it is still strong enough to spin the brush when you have the machine upside down to look at it, but when you put the machine down on the carpet the belt is too weak to turn the brush against the resistance of the carpet.

Most Eureka belt changes are simple to do and the belts are inexpensive.

Eureka the Boss Smart Vac. Hose has suction, but still isn't picking up. Weird.

Your belt is probably broken. Check your belt and make sure your brushroll has not seized. If both of those check out ok, (because the smartvac belt doesn't stretch,) the belt tensioner assembly may have gone bad.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
There are 2 different models of the boss by Eureka – there is a standard old style upright that the belt that the belt would unscrew from the bottom of the motor and you would have to remove the top of the vacuum cover to remove the main motor and gasket assm, and then the fan has a reverse thread on the plastic fan and you would unscrew the fan after removing the belt pulley. Then you would screw on the new fan, belt pulley, replace the gasket and re-install the motor. If you have a new style with a side mount motor you would remove the top cover, the motor would be in there sideways, un-screw the motor, remove the silver tape around the fan housing and un-screw the fan housing – same as above un-screw the fan from the motor, there is a nut on the end of the fan holding that on – (remember, the fan has a reverse thread) re-install the fan. Then the fan housing, replace the silver tape, and then screw down the motor and replace the top cover, then you can test. As always free to contact your local vacuum dealer in your area in the yellow pages or contact your Eureka factory manufacturer listed below:

Looking for Eureka belt 70646A for a Eureka The Boss upright

I just replaced the belt on my Eureka The Boss Smart Vac (Model 4870D). I purchased a namebrand Eureka R belt from a local vendor. I did my best to follow the instructions printed on the bottom of the machine. I turned on the vacuum cleaner and the belt brush was spinning! I dropped it into vacuuming floor mode and the belt wouldn't spin no matter what level I put it on.

I called the manufacturer (1-800-282-2886) and spoke with a very nice woman on the phone. While I was speaking with her I noticed that a silver screw was lodged within the "brush roll control" yellow selector switch. With some shaking it became dislodged and I was able to put the "brush roll control" into the hard floors setting and turn the "carpet height adjustment" all the way to the right, so that it was facing the word "low." I then followed the instructions for replacing the belt again.. (1) remove base plate (2) remove brush roll (3) place new belt around motor shaft and then around brush roll (4) insert left side of brush roll before right side (5) rotate brush roll to be sure belt is centered (6) replace base plate, making sure to insert under 4 little tabs before securing with screws.

It appears that it is very important that the carpet height and brush control adjustment are set to their highest point possible (hardwood setting) in order to get the brush to roll in a carpet setting.

"R" is the correct belt for the 4870 and should be correct for all other 4800 models.

Thank you for posting your problem to this website. If I hadn't seen that others were having trouble, I would have just given up. I hope this long post helps someone that was in my situation.
