My acer aspire 5920 is completley dead it will not turn on with a fully charged battery which was charged up using a second 5920, it will not turn on with a working power supply either. I have completly stripped the machine apart and reassembled it, checked the internal cable from the power source to the motherboard these tested ok. Im stumped nothing unparticular happened just switched it off one day and it never came back on, no lights, no fan absolutley nothing! help

Just to make sure:
1. With battery alone in notebook, and no power cable, do you get power?

2. With the battery taken out, and power cable plugged in, you do get power?

IF YES to the above two questions
... and u can get power using the power cable but not using the battery, then your battery is dead and u need a new one.

is hardware problem send to repair or a new one

I'm pleased to hear the this fix worked out for you. The 5920 is also prone to quite a few battery charging circuit issues. The most common of which is the inability to run off of the battery. You can power the machine, boot to windows, and check the batter power meter. It could read 100% and the second you unplug the AC adapter the unit immediatly turns off. This is due to a blown fuse in the circuit preventing battery power from reaching the system board. I have included the best picture I could find. Its a little small but i have circled the defective component. You should try to replace it. This may be difficult becuase you would want to replace it with the exact same fuse. For a short term fix you can simple bridge the connection once the fuse has been removed to allow power through. This will solve your problem but may be dangerous to use without a fuse in that location.

when you plug the power cord check and see if the battery shows that its charging ,if the charge level is low allow it to charge fully ,after its fully charged remove the power cord and see if it will go of again .if it goes off then you know the battery is dead if not it might be of low charge or not properly fixed.hope this helps

The problem is not the ram.
Remove the battery and try to boot the laptop up on AC power only, if it boots up then the problem is not the charger.
If the result is the same then there is a problem with the laptop's motherboard or the adapter itself is faulty.
If the latter is the case then you will need to take the laptop to a service center or PC repair store.

The power button may not work, that is most common in laptops, or you have a short.

I would suspect that the cmos battery is almost flat or mobo fault, to replace a cmos battery requires a competent Technician to dismantle entire laptop.
